Technically, according to laws and so forth, if one is a citizen of the US, then one is an American, but that doesn't fly with me anymore. Citizenship can be bought and Obama is a prime example. He's no American. Putting a Muslim in office when Islam is out to destroy us is a slap in the face to true Americans.
I believe that a true American is one who...has citizenship, believes in the Constitutional laws and precepts, and will defend them if necessary, believes in God, for that is what our country was founded upon.
It can be said that to be an American, one would have to be born here...but how far do we take that? If we were to say, and also ones parents and / or grandparents, that would be better, but like I said, how far do we take it? If one goes back far enough, at some point we'd have to admit that the only true Americans are indians.
I've often wondered if "Americans" need a new flag. Our traditional flag has been sold and usurped.
