This question seems popular and can be confusing. Here's my take on it.
The Body is a Volkswagon for "you" to reside in and ride around in. Many liken the body to be a tent, a temporary dwelling place for our soul & spirit.
The Spirit is God's. I believe that it is that, that may provide the animation of the being and allow life and consciousness to be present. Consciousness itself may be in the spirit.
The Soul can be the confusing one. It is the part of man that will be cast into hell, or saved.

Going out on a limb conjecturally here, Our soul contains our identity and personality and so forth. We are creating our own soul to be what we want it to be. You become what you think about, speak about, and do behaviorally. All this affects our personality and heart and that we become. As a natural consequence, it will either shine or be dark (on a spiritual level). We need to keep this in mind and be careful what you do and even allow yourself to think about.
Proverbs 4:23
Matthew 5:27-28
Philippians 4:8
Then your soul will have the right food to grow to be one with a good heart, which knows God.
Old Cherokee Proverb; The Two Wolves.
One evening an old Cherokee Indian told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people. He said, ‘My son, the battle is between two ‘wolves’ inside us all.One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.
The other is good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith.’
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather: ‘Which wolf wins?’
The old Cherokee simply replied, ‘The one you feed.’/
This is a perfect illustration of what goes on that affects man so profoundly. We have no choice but to fight, for the bad wolf was installed by deception when you were too young to know better. So you are fighting yourself, and must overcome.
That's my take on it.
