"Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen" (Heb 11:1). Faith in God therefore is an absolute conviction in our heart that God expressed His love for us by sacrificing His life, in order to bring forgiveness for our sins (John 3:16 & Matthew 26:28), and that we must love one another the way He loved us (John 15:12). Faith is extremely dynamic; and the force within it is so powerful that even the tiniest amount of faith is mighty enough to move mountains (Matthew 17:20). The seed of faith is sown into our heart by God (Ezekiel 11:19). We have a choice (1Peter2:16) to accept this faith and allow it to grow to perfection by putting it into action (James 2:22) or to let it die by our inactivity (James 2:17). Our actions strengthen our faith because in doing them we are accepting God’s grace by being obedient to His will. Since love is the only true expression of faith (Galatians 5:6) our acts of faith must be acts of love. Furthermore, since love is expressed in sacrifice (John 3:16), faith too is expressed in sacrifice (Genesis 22:2).
