What is the Will of the Father to enter the strait gate and narrow way that leads unto life?

Why do few find it?

Matthew 7:13-23 NKJV

When God calls you to do something he will lead you. Some find it due to maybe not being afraid to go through it. Often times we fail and not get back up and try again or get maybe we don't realize God has something better

Matthew 7:13-23 NKJV

That all would come to repentance.

The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9

This means all would turn to God, and confess Jesus as their Lord, in which they are reconciled to God, because they are joined to the Lord having become one with Him.

This is the first step.

This is entering the door, the narrow gate, which is Christ.

Then comes sanctification, and transformation.

For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual immorality; 1 Thessalonians 4:3

These are the first steps to being conformed to the image of His son, that we should grow up into Him, in all the fullness of the stature of a complete and mature Son, just like Jesus.

11 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ,13 till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; 14 that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, 15 but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ— 16 from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love. Ephesians 4:11-16

The scripture tells us that many people have a key but the wrong lock. Remember Jesus way is strait and one-way!

Right away I thought of Jesus Christ as the narrow way, the road less travelled. Maybe even like 1 in a 1000, horrifying. Why? Most people live in this world, even arrogant about it. They want what this world has to offer- money, lust, fame, power. The broad path is one of dreams, desires, delusions, and ultimately death. Even some so-called Christians, who profess the Lord with their tongues but live a secret secular inner life. They think they can have both.

The will of the Father is that we follow the path to His Kingdom. He's already got it all laid out for us. The other, worldy path leads to a fiery damnation. Few are those who understand the choice they must make, and fewer still are those who make the right one.

There is no such thing as partial justification. One is either totally justified or not justified at all. While some Christians most definitely are closer to the Lord than others, still, all will enter the strait gate and narrow way that leads unto life.

Paul addressed those who were religious, but who where not saved, regardless of what they claimed, as "having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof." He then said, "from such turn away" (2 Timothy 3:5).

Jesus said, “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth. Revelation 3:15-16 NKJV

Those who have departed from the faith

To depart from the faith means that a person had once been in the faith. Pastor Swaggart says when we speak of faith at the ministry, we're speaking of faith in the Cross of the Lord Jesus Christ. When people leave the Cross and turn to other things, which millions are now doing, the Scripture says of them: "Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils" (1 Timothy 4:1).

Needless to say, such individuals, as with the lukewarm and as with those who have a form of godliness, are labeled by the Lord as unsaved, despite their claims, and will not go in the rapture nor enter the strait gate and narrow way that leads unto life.

Pastor Tony Evans says, "We know from passages like 1 Corinthians 3:10-15 that although all Believers make it to heaven equally, the rewards they receive are not equal. Some will have gold, silver, and precious stones to present to Christ, while others will only have wood, hay, and straw, which will be burned up."

I've always looked at those verses as part of Jesus conclusion from his teachings that he started in Chapter 5.
We talk a lot about faith in Christ. But do we have enough faith to believe we can actually do what Jesus teaches us to do? So much of it goes against what we know about this world we live in.

Brother SteveBolts,

Jesus Commandments can be kept only in one way; the Believer must ever make Christ and the Cross the Object of his Faith, which will then give the Holy Spirit latitude to work within our lives and help us do these things which we must do.

I do not frustrate the Grace of God (if we make anything other than the Cross of Christ the Object of our Faith, we frustrate the Grace of God, which means we stop its action, and the Holy Spirit will no longer help us): for if Righteousness come by the Law (any type of Law), then Christ is dead in vain. (If I can successfully live for the Lord by any means other than Faith in Christ and the Cross, then the Death of Christ was a waste.)”
