It's just an observation, but I see often those who are in charge of keeping the peace and holding the rules are often the ones repeating what eachother say to the people. The moderators here are my inspiration for this line of thought. They all share the role and responsiblity of keeping the rules as they are in cf.net. And in this endeverr I see them repeat the same logic over and over again. Even though it is multiple moderators saying the same thing in different threads.

Thought not as obvious as the example of moderators saying "get along or the thread is closed,". I see the same tendiancy in other groups of people. Wives, husbands, parents, children, teachers, students, frequent travelers, police, and those who always get into trouble. In any group it seems there's something that is picked up by the people because of the role they have filled. Sometimes it's just something you have to trust the other person with because it's a common attribute among that group of people so there must be a reason for it. Not a parent but see parents commonly do ______. Not a cop but see them commonly do _______. Not always in trouble but see from those that do get into trouble often to hold a certian attitude and distance away from others. For each common behavior or common logic in a group that is filling a role in the world, there's probably a reason behind the common behavior or common logic.

....originally I was going to ask what are the roles you've filled in your life. But here's another thought. Being a Christian is a role isn't it? I wonder what things we do that is different from other people. Or if there is any differences between us and the outside world. I see complaints about Christians from those who have an issue with Christianity, that are common attributes among people in general. But I hope there are common attributes noticed among the nonbelievers about us that are positive as well. Let them know you by your love kind of thing I guess.

Just some thoughts. No real point. Sorry.

My first role was a preachers kid... lot of lessens there .. most i rebelled against.. Praise the Lord they were learning experiences
Student still the rebellion
Wife rebellion subsiding always strong willed
Mom twice.. a role filled with heartbreak and joy ... some of that rebellion turned back on me :eek2

Grand ma a fun time:sohappy
The role here has been emotional from hurts to joy.. but one i love

I was fairly young when I realized that there's 2 big areas in life for a man to make a name for himself. His family, and his work. Too much attention to either role, and the other one suffers. So I got married and went in business.

Dad two times. filled with heartbreak and joy, and rebellion which turned on me, as already noted. Failed.
Work/Provider role was semi successful but I failed in that I intentionally did not grow the business with an eye to the future. I made sure that I had time with my family, but it wasn't enough.

Many minor roles.
Peacemaker. Successful!
Firearms instructor, successful!
Friend. Mixed.

My failures are due to my over confidence. I thought I could do it alone without God. I was wrong. Suddenly someone flipped the pages of the calendar over so fast and it's too late for a do over.

hello Edward, dirtfarmer here

You stated; " Suddenly some one flipped the pages of the calendar over so fast and it's too late for a do over". I am not sure there is a "do over". My dad told me that, "There are 2 types of people that live life, those that have one experience a thousand times and never learn, then, there are those that have a 1000 experiences one time, these are those that learn."

I pray that God will let me be the type that learns and uses the many learning experiences for His glory.

hello reba, dirtfarmer here

While I was growing up my mom would tell me that we pay for our raising when we raise our own. I think she was a wise woman.

I don't find that being a Christian is a role that we are to play, but, it is a life to be lived with Christ as the principle of life

yep, right. I was being facetious when I said that, lol. That's all that I do have out of this life is my learning.

Well, it was a thought, but you're probably right.
