What's love?

I have to admit, I don't know what love is or how to love. At best I have be brainwashed about love by all the 80's TV shows and 80's music.

Also pleasure has been my substitute for real love, but that's because I don't think I ever knew what real love was.

What is real love? can someone just tell me so I'll know what I'm looking for.
 
What kind of love? Our english word love is very broad.
The love of God we hope to give off to others is found here...

4 Love is patient,love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
6 Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth.
7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8 Love never fails.

Yes I have read that many times, and I know I do my best to live that way but it feels like nothing.
