where IS your money?

While I agree that we can't trust banks anymore (And I personally have made good on that statement by now using cash for everything I can even including large purchases, and my savings are in cash that is not in a bank), really, the link looks too much like a fearmongering advertisement for a gold investment company.

They were discussing this very thing a couple of days ago on FNC and they had just found it out so I'm taking it as true. There is nothing I can do about it because all of my Veteran's benefits are direct deposit.
 
Oh it wouldn't surprise me at all if it's true that the banks will take our money some day, they are already working toward that. As I'm sure you remember well, it wasn't long ago that savings accounts were money makers and the bank made them that way because they appreciated us letting them use our money for their own profit, so they shared some of it with us. Today the amount of interest they pay in comparison is nothing more than a slap in the face to their customers, and all the creative and hidden fees they've come up with and forced on us most times amount to more than the paltry interest payments. When you ad up all the ATM fees, checking account fees, cash deposit fees (Yeah, my bank told me the other day that if I make a cash ATM deposit they now charge a percentage fee on that!) etc, we pay the bank more money to hold and use our money for their profit than they ever pay us for that privilege. The stage is certainly set for them to do exactly what this site is claiming they will do.
 
Well, it all depends on what one defines as "treasure". Mostly my treasure is non-physical and cannot be taken away from me- my faith, education, awesome personality, joy... With regards to physical treasure though, I don't put much stock in fiat currency. As far as I'm concerned "ceasar" can keep "his" monoply money" Stan was the one to get me out of paper and into commodities- physical assets you can touch. Metals and land mostly. He even used to be in the cattle business but got out of that...too many headaches. I remember when I met him he was technically unemployed, but was still able to provide for me. I learned first hand that wealth isn't measured in how much treasury notes one has in their pocket, it's how well they can use the brain God gave them.
Oh and one more thing ... In Deuteronomy and Leviticus, God says "Do not use unjust weights and measures" I feel that applies to all fiat currency. You might wanna listen to George Gordon's School of Common Law : All Wealth Comes from the Ground.
 
Anything over the FDIC guarantee limit is at risk during the next 08 type scenario.

The real danger though is bankers bailing themselves out with the printing press. With the printing press, bankers can secretly confiscate your pension, wages, IRA savings, etc... Our ancestors used a gold standard to protect themselves from bankers. We should vote for the same.

Indeed, Tricky Dicky put us under the present curse of GDP Value when he removed the Gold Standard in the seventies. I disapproved and was thought a fool and I disapprove still.
