Whose that, mom?

My mother was an LPN, and was head nurse at a local nursing home years ago. I remember as a kid asking, "Whose that?" To which mom replied, "That's a candy striper." View attachment 2649

Shows my age, I guess. In my days, there were RN's, LPN's and candy stripers. :lol

Remember those, folks?

I remember candy stripers!

I WAS a teenage candy striper for a short while....until........... I took a dinner tray in for my favourite patient...... starting talking as I walked in...continued talking while I set up the tray ... kept up with the cheery talk as I raised her bed so she could sit up to eat........talking came to an abrupt halt as I noticed she was quite dead.........and I fainted.

I decided I wasn't cut out for the nursing field!

There's sort of a strange humor in that, in that you were talking and oblivious to her condition (not about the death, but your lack of knowledge) but regardless I'm sorry for the loss of your dear patient nevertheless.
