1 Kings 11:1-3 New International Version (NIV)

Solomon’s Wives

11 King Solomon, however, loved many foreign women besides Pharaoh’s daughter—Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Sidonians and Hittites. 2 They were from nations about which the Lord had told the Israelites, “You must not intermarry with them, because they will surely turn your hearts after their gods.” Nevertheless, Solomon held fast to them in love. 3 He had seven hundred wives of royal birth and three hundred concubines, and his wives led him astray.

he allowed it but it was a thing he was commanded in the torah not to do and later on the kingdom of isreal suffered for that as it was rent into two.

While the Bible makes it clear that Solomon was out of God's will, David had concubines and multiple wives, too, and scripture doesn't appear to fault him for it.
From my reading (not that I've done a ton of it on this subject), concubines and marriages often had to do with relations or treaties with other nations and countries. It was the way things worked with government relations at the time.

I do not believe it was God's perfect will, but perhaps it does show that some things were tolerated somewhat due to a stiffnecked culture.

the account of Solomon Is in the bible. why one earth do you need that to know that god allows men to sin and decides when and where he will judge them for that? no sin is unpunished. either its placed upon us or the cross or then the lord placed it upon men and or goats and animals or even just took it from then as the case with Nineveh.
