1 Corinthians 1

26 For consider your calling, brothers: not many of you were wise according to worldly standards,[c] not many were powerful, not many were of noble birth. 27 But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; 28 God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are,

WHY?

I often think on this question, WHY HAS GOD SAVED ME?, after all, in my family, both my brothers are smarter and better looking than me, one is a business owner, another one was able to communicate effectively with many different people. I am not business savvy or an able oral communicator>

My nephews and nieces are intelligent and clever people, one nephew is a PHD, another is a computer whizz, so why did God choose me?

You look at the people God choose, twelve disciples, who if you were being honest, you wouldn't touch with a barge pole! They were a motley group of low life's, but filled with the power of God, they turned Jerusalem and ultimately the world upside down.

So why does God choose the so called foolish things to confuse the wise?

It got me to thinking, and so I asked the question WHY

Below is a little poem/prose, that asks the question?

That s immoveable

Thanks be to God, that I know the answer to the Question

WHY

One day, we will not ask Why.

When we gaze into our Saviour's face, we will know the answer to the question

WHY?

Thanks to God, who has saved me.

If you are reading this, and you haven't go this confidence, then you need to trust Christ.

Romans 10

9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. 11 For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.”

Belief in the finished work of Christ and confession of Christ are essential ingredients of Salvation.

We need repent, believe and confess.

Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.

Please take time to read the stories of how three thousand souls on the day of Pentecost and how the Philippian jailer, in Acts 16, had their question answered.

Both asked

What must we do to be saved?

But you know the answer?

The question is:

Will you do as they did?

Acts 2

37 Now when they heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?” 38 And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself.” 40 And with many other words he bore witness and continued to exhort them, saying, “Save yourselves from this crooked generation.” 41 So those who received his word were baptized, and there were added that day about three thousand souls.

Acts 16

25 About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them, 26 and suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken. And immediately all the doors were opened, and everyone's bonds were unfastened. 27 When the jailer woke and saw that the prison doors were open, he drew his sword and was about to kill himself, supposing that the prisoners had escaped. 28 But Paul cried with a loud voice, “Do not harm yourself, for we are all here.” 29 And the jailer[e] called for lights and rushed in, and trembling with fear he fell down before Paul and Silas. 30 Then he brought them out and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” 31 And they said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.” 32 And they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all who were in his house. 33 And he took them the same hour of the night and washed their wounds; and he was baptized at once, he and all his family. 34 Then he brought them up into his house and set food before them. And he rejoiced along with his entire household that he had believed in God.

Many Christians are unsure of their faith and that is sad. They have not matured in Christ but instead rely upon the world for salvation. The time is come now that those who are unsure must face the consequences and be judged. When did Satan fall from Heaven? Does anyone besides me know?

ultimately the world upside down.
Not. They were chased out of one city , community, town, and country , after another, and went elsewhere to preach the Gospel or to live, or were martyred. The world remained and remains almost totally wicked, sinful, and opposed to Jesus and His disciples.
