World-wide census for Athiests

So it appears that the Atheists at ThinkAtheist.com have little reverence for what others consider important. Ateistcensus.com is having a worldwide count of Atheist just in time for Christmas. Hubris is why I stopped posting on their site.

This isn't such a bad idea. Not that its a representative cencus, or that you can make many assumptions based on this cencus. It only encompasses people who happen to come across it, people who are likely to come across it are very active online atheists. No system to check wether or not people are telling the truth. One would have to do take an assumption on how many are lying and use it in the analysis. It is a little interesting to see all the people that have bothered to sign up and their respected countries. I find it interesting that over 11000 ex muslims have entered it.

It will be interesting to see how the results develop.

Whilst there may well be other factors influencing the results, it is clear that unbelievers are predominantly the better educated. :chin

I wish I still had my ESS datasheets and SPSS program, was fun for actually finding out the statistically correct facts using quantitative regression analysis. In Europe there is correlation between the higher income/education and higher religiousity "scale 1-10". Though I can't make a conclusion on cause effect except in the case of higher education-->higher income. Either higher education makes a person more religious or people more religious aim for higher education in europe.

That's amazing! Exactly the opposite of this particular survey and every other one I have ever seen. Are you sure you weren't holding the piece of paper upside down? :halo

Where did you get your data from? :confused
