no, if i see the potus while in uniform i must render the honor given to him , a military salute! by bazz that would be Worship! and God in romans 13 says give honour to honor due, tribute to tribute is due and fear to fear is due.
so then the corrupt Roman govt was also to be worshipped?as it say that they are his serveants to the task of avenging evil.

That is not worship, but honour out of respect. Only God is worthy of worship.

Do you realize that honor and praise is a form of worship and vice versa? The reason why it is wrong to worship human beings as we are in this life is that we don't deserve it....yet. We don't have the kind of ability and control over life, including ours and circumstances and creation that we will have in glory.<o>:tongue</o>:tongue

Put in its proper perspective, it is not the same as the worship that beings only to the Most High God. Even in the Kingdom, living as citizens there, we will be among all there, including the grass and the trees who give worship to God with one voice.

But we are talking about the word God and what Jesus said. As I said, men choose what word to capitalize and which word not to. And I don't have a problem with that because I understand.<O:tongue</O:tongue

men translated the bible! and the word for God in greek is theo. not elohim.

theo for a male diety, thea for female diety.

and when the lord used that verse lets look at the hebrew

its elohim and elohim can mean a god as in lowercase God.

show me and actually go to the jews and see how they see it. its actually not even god but godlike

one on site. so if he says that to them in the hebrew and taken into the account of what the hebrew judge does and they did judge men and do according what God wanted so in that sense you could say they were God like as they had the power of men.

thus his delegates but not Gods. to be worshipped.

and on a lds site they claim what you claim.

I said it’s a form of worship because worship is praise, and praise in simple term is complimenting someone. When you complement someone for doing a good job, you are praising him or her. So worship is the highest form of praise/complemet.<O:tongue</O:tongue

Acts 5:29 (ASV)
29 But Peter and the apostles answered and said, We must obey God rather than men.

Hi, are we saying that we are to be executed with tape on our mouth?? If one thinks of Christ 'not opening His mouth' read Matt. 23. It had ALL BEEN SAID!

So Jay.., how is this post meant for the Christian to reply?? As a Rev. 3:16 Pew Warmer?? Note Dan. here, the king sure was sweet, huh? How these ones reacted went right along with this posted verse of Acts!

[14] Nebuchadnezzar spake and said unto them, Is it true, O Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, do not ye serve my gods, nor worship the golden image which I have set up?
[15] Now if ye be ready that at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, ye fall down and worship the image which I have made; well: but if ye worship not, ye shall be cast the same hour into the midst of a burning fiery furnace; and who is that God that shall deliver you out of my hands?

[16] Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter.
[17] If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.
[18] But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.

[19] Then was Nebuchadnezzar full of fury, and the form of his visage was changed against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego: therefore he spake, and commanded that they should heat the furnace one seven times more than it was wont to be heated.

Honouring a man and not doing that sin is two different things

case in point here when paul is before annais and calls him a whited sepulchre and is struck and is mad and the pharisees says this thou shalt not speak evil of thy ruler.

and what does paul do? shut up and apologise and acknowledge that pharisee as ruler.sure he didnt follow his commands but he didnt act a fool and that is what i mean.

Acts 23 kjv

1 And Paul, earnestly beholding the council, said, Men [and] brethren, I have lived in all good conscience before God until this day.

2 And the high priest Ananias commanded them that stood by him to smite him on the mouth.

3 Then said Paul unto him, God shall smite thee, [thou] whited wall: for sittest thou to judge me after the law, and commandest me to be smitten contrary to the law?

4 And they that stood by said, Revilest thou God's high priest?

5 Then said Paul, I wist not, brethren, that he was the high priest: for it is written, Thou shalt not speak evil of the ruler of thy people.

6 But when Paul perceived that the one part were Sadducees, and the other Pharisees, he cried out in the council, Men [and] brethren, I am a Pharisee, the son of a Pharisee: of the hope and resurrection of the dead I am called in question.

7 And when he had so said, there arose a dissension between the Pharisees and the Sadducees: and the multitude was divided.

8 For the Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, neither angel, nor spirit: but the Pharisees confess both.

9 And there arose a great cry: and the scribes [that were] of the Pharisees' part arose, and strove, saying, We find no evil in this man: but if a spirit or an angel hath spoken to him, let us not fight against God.

10 And when there arose a great dissension, the chief captain, fearing lest Paul should have been pulled in pieces of them, commanded the soldiers to go down, and to take him by force from among them, and to bring [him] into the castle.

11 And the night following the Lord stood by him, and said, Be of good cheer, Paul: for as thou hast testified of me in Jerusalem, so must thou bear witness also at Rome.

12 And when it was day, certain of the Jews banded together, and bound themselves under a curse, saying that they would neither eat nor drink till they had killed Paul.

13 And they were more than forty which had made this conspiracy.

14 And they came to the chief priests and elders, and said, We have bound ourselves under a great curse, that we will eat nothing until we have slain Paul.

15 Now therefore ye with the council signify to the chief captain that he bring him down unto you to morrow, as though ye would enquire something more perfectly concerning him: and we, or ever he come near, are ready to kill him.

16 And when Paul's sister's son heard of their lying in wait, he went and entered into the castle, and told Paul.

17 Then Paul called one of the centurions unto [him], and said, Bring this young man unto the chief captain: for he hath a certain thing to tell him.

18 So he took him, and brought [him] to the chief captain, and said, Paul the prisoner called me unto [him], and prayed me to bring this young man unto thee, who hath something to say unto thee.

19 Then the chief captain took him by the hand, and went [with him] aside privately, and asked [him], What is that thou hast to tell me?

20 And he said, The Jews have agreed to desire thee that thou wouldest bring down Paul to morrow into the council, as though they would enquire somewhat of him more perfectly.

21 But do not thou yield unto them: for there lie in wait for him of them more than forty men, which have bound themselves with an oath, that they will neither eat nor drink till they have killed him: and now are they ready, looking for a promise from thee.

22 So the chief captain [then] let the young man depart, and charged [him, See thou] tell no man that thou hast shewed these things to me.

23 And he called unto [him] two centurions, saying, Make ready two hundred soldiers to go to Caesarea, and horsemen threescore and ten, and spearmen two hundred, at the third hour of the night;

24 And provide [them] beasts, that they may set Paul on, and bring [him] safe unto Felix the governor.

25 And he wrote a letter after this manner:

26 Claudius Lysias unto the most excellent governor Felix [sendeth] greeting.

27 This man was taken of the Jews, and should have been killed of them: then came I with an army, and rescued him, having understood that he was a Roman.

28 And when I would have known the cause wherefore they accused him, I brought him forth into their council:

29 Whom I perceived to be accused of questions of their law, but to have nothing laid to his charge worthy of death or of bonds.

30 And when it was told me how that the Jews laid wait for the man, I sent straightway to thee, and gave commandment to his accusers also to say before thee what [they had] against him. Farewell.

31 Then the soldiers, as it was commanded them, took Paul, and brought [him] by night to Antipatris.

32 On the morrow they left the horsemen to go with him, and returned to the castle:

33 Who, when they came to Caesarea, and delivered the epistle to the governor, presented Paul also before him.

34 And when the governor had read [the letter], he asked of what province he was. And when he understood that [he was] of Cilicia;

35 I will hear thee, said he, when thine accusers are also come. And he commanded him to be kept in Herod's judgment hall.

The point that I made earlier is that one cannot become another person, because that person is already that person. So it is with God....God is already Himself, so we cannot be Him, but we can be like Him....and we will.<O:tongue</O:tongue

but not in recieving worship or in creation.

i dont see that he would need our help. angels can also do what he does on a small scale.

they fed the prophet elijah, judged men, and also fought the devil.

yet none of them were used in creation.

we arent getting the worship only God gets.

They will acknowledge their error with sad regret. When they bow down it will be because they will have relinquished their argument.

WE will point them to the Saviour, just as Peter in Cornelius' house, and angels did, refusing to accept worship, when men would rashly bow at their feet!

that isnt the same worship as the lord gets.
that one there is the realisation that the enemies sees that we have a God and we are his kids and they fear him and acknowledge that we are his kids.

but they dont Give us praise, they give God the praise

there are instances in the ot where that happens.

and God used that. ie the story of the gibeonites and rachab the harlot.

the dread of the lord was upon isreal's enemies, some gave God his due, and were afraid of the isrealites as they knew whom they isrealites served and also fear that God.

note the God of the isrealites as feared not the men who served him.

The Virtue of Purpose...?

I cry out to God Most High, to God who will fulfill his purpose for me. (Ps 57:2)

Through this chapter of my journey, I have considered myself a patient person. I have been placed into various roles on several occasions because of this quality. The one thing I have come to realize is that I have taken this virtue for granted and not allowed it to bring the glory it is purposed for.

By my own definition I view patience as being still with others in times of anxiousness. This quality may also fall in line with certain situations, places or things. I pray in the calm of my emotion that I discover Gods purpose for placing this upon me, and let it bring the glory to God it was intended for.

We also pray that you will be strengthened with all his glorious power so you will have all the endurance and patience you need. May you be filled with joy (Col 1:11)

This may seem a bit self-serving, and that is not its intention. My goal is for you to realize what virtue God has bestowed upon you. With self-discovery or known knowledge of the special gift he has placed in your hands, I urge you as well as myself to pray for clarity to bring it to its full potential. Through this fulfillment, I know we will be strengthened and filled with joy!

May God bless you and give you Grace!

That's your opinion, the Bible does not say one way or the other.....it just says that Jesus said He will make or cause them to come and worship at our feet. I would rather leave it at that.<O:tongue</O:tongue
<O:tongue</O:tongue

I think the problem is that we have a competitive attitude and when we see other people getting something, we believe we deserve it more, so we believe that God is like that too.<O:tongue</O:tongue

It’s not only that, we rule with love and justice and create a world where all people and Nations can prosper and live a life as God intended, that people will be so grateful that they cannot help but be excited in our presence, just like a dog gets excited when he sees his master that have been away for a long time.<O:tongue</O:tongue

Yes, but I think the excited ones will be us. Jesus will be among us!! It's all about Him.

what does that mean?

why would he state that to us.

If you read that verse that you are hinting at you will see that it is addressing false gods....gods that does not exist. Obviously, God did not have a problem with His people prostrating or bowing before kings as He did when they did it before a false god or an idol.<O:tongue</O:tongue

its that not the same when are worshipped?
you say that we are worshiped by the enemies of God.who repent. is that not the same

and paul and silas were called Gods and refused that title by the greeks.

honour isnt worship as that is where you are confused. if so then why did you just say that the lord doesnt mind us bowing to kings? as i have said if we are worshipped like God is by us, then he would be jealous as only gets the full adoration.

kings recieve honour but not the place of the most high. that is what i'm confused about this thread.

you claim we are worshipped ,like the place of the father when in english it should be stated that we are honored and exalted by God.

the later being biblical.

that even has happened ie joseph! humbled by his brethren and sold into slavery, elevated to second only to pharoah and men bowed to him.

yet God put him there! but no man called joseph a god or his creator. they just respected his position in the egyptain kingdom.

is that what you are saying?
