No, I am saying just what I said. some lost sheep go deaf to their masters voice and fall off the narrow path never to return. I've known personally people that were Spiritually born again on fire for the Lord with great faith and very learned and full of the Spirit of God, but for whatever the circumstance that came in their life they up and left faith as they no longer believed anymore and blasphemed against the Holy Spirit. Even though they were reached out to they still chose to completely walk away. I don't believe in OSAS.

I agree with...OSAS...

Here's what I think happens

1st Cor 3:10 By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as a wise builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should build with care. 11 For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, 13 their work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each person’s work. 14 If what has been built survives, the builder will receive a reward. 15 If it is burned up, the builder will suffer loss but yet will be saved—even though only as one escaping through the flames.

The key is the ending....15 If it is burned up, the builder will suffer loss but yet will be saved—even though only as one escaping through the flames.

Yes I would agree with you, if that was the ending.

16 Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? 17 If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are.

What does this have to do with lost sheep? I only made the remark I did not believe in OSAS as I was making a point about the lost sheep, not a discussion on OSAS vs OSNAS.

What does "defiles the temple of God"....mean?

What part of "yet will be saved"...did you not understand?

Then why did Jesus say..John 6:.37 All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will never turn away....39 "This is the will of Him who sent Me, that of all that He has given Me I lose nothing, but raise it up on the last day.....40 This is my Father’s will: That everyone who sees the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him to life on the last day.”

How does OSNAS...square with that?

When it comes down to it there is no way to know exactly who is saved and who isnt saved!!!!
ONly God can judge.......
Even Paul had doubts....
1 corinthians 4:4
others were assured of their salvation and didnt enter into eternal life
Matthew 7:21-23
Only those whos name is written in the Book of Life
Will enter eternal life.....
Revelation 20:15

Only those who love the Lord will be sqved......
Do you love Me...
John 21:17
You must love your brethren or you will not enter
1 john3:14
Love covers a multitude of sins
1 peter 4:8

What does "defiles the temple of God"....mean?

What part of "yet will be saved"...did you not understand?

I understand what "yet will be saved" means and to whom it refers. Do you?

Do you believe "yet will be saved", refers to the "worker", [the one who is constructing the building], or to the "work", [the one who is being built into the collective temple]
  • For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, you are God’s building.

  • If anyone’s work [the person being built into the collective temple] which he has built on it endures, he [the worker] will receive a reward.

  • If anyone’s work [the person who is being built into the collective temple] is burned, he [the worker] will suffer loss [of his reward]; but he himself [the worker] will be saved, yet so as through fire.

9 For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, you are God’s building. 10 According to the grace of God which was given to me, as a wise master builder I have laid the foundation, and another builds on it. But let each one take heed how he builds on it. 11 For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, 13 each one’s work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one’s work, of what sort it is. 14 If anyone’s work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward. 15 If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.

16 Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? 17 If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are. 1 Corinthians 3:9-17

  • This is the will of Him who sent Me, that of all that He has given Me I lose nothing, but raise it up on the last day
Of course, we all know that it is God's will that none should should perish, but that all would come to repentance.

The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9

36 But I said to you that you have seen Me and yet do not believe. 37 All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out. 38 For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me. 39 This is the will of the Father who sent Me, that of all He has given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day. 40 And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.” John 6:36-40

Jesus had many disciples come to Him and see Him and believe for a while, then turn away from Him, in John 6.

60 Therefore many of His disciples, when they heard this, said, “This is a hard saying; who can understand it?”
61 When Jesus knew in Himself that His disciples complained about this, He said to them, “Does this offend you? 62 What then if you should see the Son of Man ascend where He was before? 63 It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life. 64 But there are some of you who do not believe.” For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were who did not believe, and who would betray Him. 65 And He said, “Therefore I have said to you that no one can come to Me unless it has been granted to him by My Father.”

66 From that time many of His disciples went back and walked with Him no more.

Remember, Jesus had just got through telling His disciples this in John 5 -

  • all who are in the graves will hear His voice and come forth—those who have done good, to the resurrection of life

28 Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice 29 and come forth—those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation. John 5:28-29

Can you please address the the topic of this thread -

Sheep can indeed become lost.

Lost = Sinner who is need of repentance; dead to God, in need of salvation, reconciliation to God.
Found = Someone is is reconciled to God; saved.

I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance. Luke 15:7

Likewise, I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”
Luke 15:10

It was right that we should make merry and be glad, for your brother was dead and is alive again, and was lost and is found.’” Luke 15:32

If a sheep becomes lost, they return to being spiritually dead, unless they repent and turn back to God.

I said I am not making this about OSAS vs OSNAS. That is another topic of discussion. And no I am not evading the scripture you gave. Just saying some have walked away and just do not want to be found. I've seen it to many times. Jesus is not losing them, they are losing Him.

It's pretty simple....the christians works will be judged. Good works rewarded bad works not......For the christian who does little, very little...you'll still be saved.

You typed a lot...but failed to make a point.

My point is if God gives you to Jesus...you will never be lost. (not saved)

By saying again, the scripture is indicating that he was alive at one time then was dead, and them became alive again.
But we are all dead in our sins to begin with; there is nothing in the story to remotely suggest that the son was 'saved' then lost his salvation and then regained it. That would be reading something into it that is not there.
There is a physical and spiritual POV to the story. I see the father saying 'he was dead and now is alive again' in the physical aspect: The son was gone, whereabouts unknown, no communication and could be seen allegorically as dead. His return is coming back to life because he is back among his family. The spiritual aspect we are all familiar with......

I repented and returned to God, just like the prodigal son did who was lost: dead as was alive again.
So, you did not lose your salvation then and have to start all over from scratch? If we lost our salvation each time we sinned we would all be in big trouble......

Then why does Paul exhort us not to live a life of sin:
1 Corinthians 5:9-12
Because no one should live a life of sin regardless of salvation status. We all, saved and unsaved alike, still sin; the difference is when the saved sin we have the HS to prick our conscience and convict us of that sin.
1 Corinthians 6:9-11

9Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, 10nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God. 11Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God.
NASB

If the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God and one returns to a life of unrighteousness, how will he be able to inherit the kingdom of God?
I think that is answered above....

We agree.
I know some osas believers that will say that WHATEVER life they live, they are still saved. This is very worrisome to me...

God will judge us on our BELIEF, meaning we were following His Son...on our deeds and our love for fellow human beings,

NOT on lip service to Him...

I believe when we sin we fall out of fellowship with God until we repent......losing salvation, if it is possible, I believe would require repudiation of God's existence not just sin......The only unforgivable sin is to blaspheme the HS.....

I think it's worrisome to everyone. Two possibilities come to mind....was the person saved in the first place? Secondly, what would cause a true believer to live that lifestyle?

Yes, Jesus will judge us at the Bema seat...rewards will be given or not given...yet we will be saved.
