The word for “earth” is also the same word for “land.” That verse is also “the tribes of the land” which was local. We don’t have tribes all
over the earth. So no tribes of the earth can be the meaning. Tribes means tribes, not just “people.” You and I aren’t in tribes.

No, there haven’t. Nothing was like those times. It’s pretty aweful reading.

No, it refers to judgement and is used when God judges a nation to wipe them out. I can give you the OT references. It was not in glory where the world or locals praises Him.

No “coming in the clouds” in those references but coming in the final judgement. That’s the description.

Same, no clouds.

That wording is not him “coming in the clouds.” A cloud or mist descended. The Holy Spirit appeared once as a dove but we don’t thing every dove landing is the HS. The wording is different. And those verses (coming in the clouds) are accompanied by terrible judgement verses. The presence of fog is not the presence of God.

When Jesus told the Jews he was coming in the clouds, they got angry because they knew he was saying he was coming again in judgement on them.

Thanks Marilyn. Nice thinking together.
Of course this is only what preterist are taught as they believe all things have been fulfilled in 70AD. I'm sorry, but not everything has been fulfilled yet. How do we know this? Because Jesus has not yet returned.

It is. All the times I could find in the OT and NT quotes were associated with his wrath against an unusually sinful people.
The Lord's day being the day of the Lord is a day of Gods great wrath being poured out into the world that will have a great impact on those who refuse to repent and accept Jesus as Lord and Savior. It is always pointed out as the day at hand meaning in Gods timing in Rev 1:10. The phrase "the day of the Lord" is used nineteen times in the Old Testament (Isaiah 2:12; 13:6, 9; Ezekiel 13:5, 30:3; Joel 1:15, 2:1,11,31; 3:14; Amos 5:18,20; Obadiah 15; Zephaniah 1:7,14; Zechariah 14:1; Malachi. 4:5) and five times in the New Testament (Acts 2:20; 1 Thessalonians 5:2; 2 Thessalonians 2:2; 2 Peter 3:10; Rev 1:10). It is also alluded to in other passages like Revelation 6:17; 16:14.

This all takes place before the second coming of Christ. Those who are His own through great faith in Christ will endure much during this time, but yet God said when we see those things happening that we need to flee and God will provide us a safe place until Christ returns sending His angels out to the four corners of the earth to gather those who are still alive and those in the grave as then we will be caught up to meet Him in the air.

Hi for_his_glory

So you are saying that in 46 more years that Christ will return.....................wow, another date setter.
For the record, that's not what n2thelight said. They said they expected it to happen within that time because of the Scriptures that tells us that the generation to see some signs that Jesus spoke with his disciples about, would not pass away that saw all of these things come to pass. That's nowhere near being a 'date setter'. That would actually cover about 17,000 dates.

God bless,
Ted

Sorry about the length, but this is how I see things play out according to scripture as we see that day approaching.

When the son of perdition takes his literal seat in the holy place of Jerusalem, 2Thessalonians 2:1-5, Jesus warned us to flee as He has a place prepared for us wherever we go to, Matthew 24:15-21; Rev 12:14. At this time many Christians will be taken captive that did not heed the warning to flee and if they will not denounce Christ and bow down and take the mark of this beast, who falsely claims peace and safety to all who takes its mark, they will die a martyr's death.

God's protection is absolute to those who are His own and escape into the wilderness as they trust in Christ to help meet their needs. Just as God told Moses to strike the rock for fresh water, Exodus 17:1-7, and sending manna down from heaven and providing Quail for meat, Exodus 16, so will be the same in the end of days, Philippians 4:19.

Nut shell scenario of what will happen during the first six trumpets of Rev Chapter 8-11 that leads up to the seventh trumpet and the 3 1/2 years events of Chapter 13 with the beast out of the sea and out of the earth.

God’s wrath is poured out into the world as chastisements for disobedience, but also a warning that man needs to repent and turn back to God before the door of salvation is closed forever when Christ returns.

Hail and fire can be likened unto meteors that fall from the sky. A third of the trees and all the green grass are burned up which makes a third part of the world with a shortage of oxygen in the air that is created from the carbon dioxide from the trees and living plants. Seeing that this is Global the intense fire and smoke from all the trees and grass burning can travel for miles causing much more damage throughout the nations. The trees that produce various healthy foods for our wellbeing will become scarce. The green grasses that would probably include crops of wheat, barley, corn and so forth will be destroyed causing a shortage in food. The animals we depend on as a food source will also die as they are left without vegetation they need to live on.

This great mountain burning with fire could be a large asteroid as the third part of the sea is destroyed along with sea life and the third part of the ships that sit in it. The third part of the sea turned to blood by reason of all the animal life that is killed and those men, women and children who are on these ships that are destroyed. Take into consideration the disease that would spread from all the rotted sea life that is rotting away washing up on the shore and the flesh of those who were burned along with the ships.

These ships will more than likely be types of fuel tankers, merchant, fishing and luxury cruises ships traveling the waters. With the third of these ships being destroyed means a third part of the world’s fuel and food supply would be destroyed. There is only one ocean, but divided by four regions as being the Pacific Ocean, Atlantic Ocean, Arctic Ocean, and the Indian Ocean. This would be like the four corners of the earth as being North, South, East and West. The only difference between the ocean and the sea is that the ocean is much larger and feeds into the 108 seas around the world that also flow into our lakes and streams that provide us with fresh drinking water and other sources of food.

With the third part of the sun, moon and stars being darkened this will affect mans source of electricity and heat that is vital to keep a certain degree of the earth warm, and generated power in homes, hospitals and manufacturing plants including nuclear reactors.

Agriculture and navigation would be hard pressed as it takes the solar power from the sun to run the solar cells that produces the energy needed to run farming machinery and trucks to take the produce to manufacturing plants where the produce is then distributed to market.

Vehicles such as cars, ambulances, planes, trains and the list goes on need an energy source from the sun in order to run their engines. The darkness of the third part of the day would be roughly around eight hours of daylight being lost and total darkness of night as the moon and stars are illuminated by the sun at night. A flashlight would be useless to see in the dark as it needs energy from the sun to run the battery that turns the light on.

This much darkness would cause people to panic in the streets creating chaos as the love of many will wax cold, Matthew 24:12. Riots would break out causing looting and lose of life as those who have not will do anything in desperation to take from those who have much. IMO Marshal law will be enforced as we see history repeat itself with many Christians taken captive that did not flee and killed as they refuse to denounce Christ and take the mark. They will also die a martyr's death, Rev 6:9-11, especially vs. 11. Also we are not to fear what man can do to us, Matthew 10:28.

This is where the mark of the beast comes in during the seventh trumpet as this NWO is a Luciferian system of economics, political, military, educational, environmental and false religious power that gives power to the beast out of the earth being the son of perdition. By lying signs and wonders the beast will deceive the nations (people) into taking its mark. IMO I think the mark is the thoughts of our mind and the actions of our hands reaching out to this beast that promises peace, safety and provision as many will bow down and worship this beast who claims to be God.

After the 3 1/2 years of this Luciferian reign on earth that will wear out the saints, Daniel 7:25, then every eye will see Christ coming in the clouds with His army of angels that are then sent out to gather those saints who are alive at His coming and those who sleep in their graves, Matthew 24:29-31; 1 Corinthians 15:51-58; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Rev 19:11-21. We are gathered up to the clouds as we receive our new glorified bodies in order to meet Jesus in the air. From the air He destroys the beast and false prophet by the brightness of His coming only speaking their destruction casting them into the lake of fire. Satan is bound for a time as Jesus sets out to destroy all the nations that followed after the beast. Satan is then released in a final attempt to destroy the saints as he sends his angels out to surround the camp of the saints, but the angels are consumed by fire and Satan cast into the lake of fire. Then comes God's great white throne judgment and the books are opened and all are judged. Then this present heaven and earth are burned up and made new again and the New Jerusalem is ushered down from heaven where we will be with the Lord forever.
Hi fhg,

Good detail of what is to come during the tribulation when God judges the rebellious. it helps to make is clearer for people who wonder what it will be like. well done.

The only point of difference is the I don`t believe the Body of Christ will go through the judgments of Almighty God. We are being brought to maturity, by the Holy Spirit. (Eph. 4: 13)

Our battle is not flesh and blood but wrong teachings. (Eph. 4: 14) which exalt itself against the knowledge of God. (2 Cor. 10: 5)

Then how do you explain Matthew 24:29-31, 1 Thessalonians 13-18?

Acts 3:11-21 starts out by Peter speaking to those who thought he and John healed the lame man by their own power. The heaven had received Jesus when He ascended up to heaven. When Jesus returns then this will be the time on the last day where He makes restitution/restoring everything back to God after we are caught up to Him and the New Jerusalem is ushered down where we will be with the Lord forever.

BTW, I use to believe in all those pretrib teachings until I studied it for myself and found nothing in scripture to support this false doctrine.
Hi fhg,

Good question. Now we need to remember that the Body of Christ revelation was NOT revealed until the Lord ascended to the Father`s right hand and He sent His Holy Spirit to reveal this purpose. And the apostle Paul was the first to teach of the Body as it was revealed to him first.

So when Jesus was on earth He was talking to the people of Israel concerning THEIR future. We read it and learn of what is coming on the earth, however we know that the Head of the Body has revealed to us our purpose and timing to be with Him.

As to the `times of restoration,` that is a process. First the restoring of visible rulership in the third heaven, (the Lord moving from the Father`s throne to His own throne, (Rev. 3: 21) then He executes the judgments. His Body is also with Him judging the world system and fallen angels. (1 Cor. 6: 2 & 3)

After that the Lord will be judging between the `sheep and goats` nations, as to how they treated the Jews in the tribulation. (Matt. 25: 31 - 46)

The `rod of iron` rulership will be through Israel over the nations during the millennium. (Micah 4: 1 - 3)

Thus the `process` which is shown in 1 Cor, 15: 24. `Then comes the end when He delivers the kingdom/rule to God the Father.` `Comes the end,` refers to a setting out to a predetermined goal.

`the end,` Gk, `telos` meaning to set out for a definite point or goal.

`For He must reign till He has put all enemies under His feet.` (1 Cor. 15: 25)

This is what I have been trying to show you that this NWO (beastly kingdom) will control the whole would as I already listed the ten nations that make up the whole world. When the son of perdition takes his seat for 3 1/2 years in the end of days he will cause all, saints and sinners, to take the mark of this beast or be torture and beheaded. It's all right there in Daniel 7 and Rev 13.

The 10 nations are of the terrifying beastly kingdom/Federation that has yet to arise. It is not of the whole world but controls the whole world. It is part of a terrifying beastly power that is different from all other Federations.

The 10 horns - `And the 10 horns which you saw are 10 kings who have received NO KINGDOM (singular) as yet, but they receive authority for one hour (short time) as kings (leaders) with the beast, (A/C).` (Rev. 17: 12)

These 10 leaders come from the terrifying Federation.

`The fourth kingdom shall be a fourth kingdom on earth, which shall be different from all other kingdoms....the 10 horns are 10 kings who shall arise FROM this kingdom.` (Dan. 7: 23 & 24)

The 4th Federation has the 10 leaders with it. They, together control the whole world. They are NOT the whole world.

Hope that is clearer. Detail of language can trip us up.

regards, Marilyn.

The wrath of God was poured out against particularly sinful people at points of time in the Old Testament. As you correctly said, these are called the day of the Lord and are the times your references indicated. Predicted and fulfilled in the old testament times.

It is not poured out in the future against the whole world for simply ignoring Jesus. That choice is dealt with at judgement individually. Revelation even says the local inhabitants refused to give up their evil practices despite the woes.
That is The last time we know of as predicted in scripture and shortly thereafter fulfilled and it was the wicked who killed the son of God and murdered Jesus’ followers over decades.

Your last paragraph is the eschatology called Futurism. It is view that became popular particularly in the US since the last century.

Of course this is only what preterist are taught as they believe all things have been fulfilled in 70AD. I'm sorry, but not everything has been fulfilled yet. How do we know this? Because Jesus has not yet returned.
If you cannot address the issue I brought up, that the word mistranslated as “earth” endeavoring to give the reader the idea of whole planet, (when it actually means “land”), then it’s better if you do not write the above posts.

Hi fhg,

Good question. Now we need to remember that the Body of Christ revelation was NOT revealed until the Lord ascended to the Father`s right hand and He sent His Holy Spirit to reveal this purpose. And the apostle Paul was the first to teach of the Body as it was revealed to him first.
That Paul mentioned it doesn’t follow that it was first revealed to him. We have no record of what was revealed to most of the apostles nor when.
So when Jesus was on earth He was talking to the people of Israel concerning THEIR future.
True, He told them that the Kingdom of God would be taken away from them and given to a different people group, He told them that Jerusalem or at least the temple would be leveled. He told them that their house would be left desolate.

We read it and learn of what is coming on the earth, however we know that the Head of the Body has revealed to us our purpose and timing to be with Him.

Well it was coming to them in Israel.

As to the `times of restoration,` that is a process. First the restoring of visible rulership in the third heaven, (the Lord moving from the Father`s throne to His own throne, (Rev. 3: 21) then He executes the judgments.

21The one who conquers, I will grant him to sit with me on my throne, as I also conquered and sat down with my Father on his throne.

Where do you get that Jesus moved to his own throne? They are the same thrown. He is still with his Father on his thrown. He’s not the junior partner.
His Body is also with Him judging the world system and fallen angels. (1 Cor. 6: 2 & 3)

After that the Lord will be judging between the `sheep and goats` nations, as to how they treated the Jews in the tribulation. (Matt. 25: 31 - 46)
The Jews aren’t mentioned in that scripture, just people. There is no reward for supporting political Israel. None mentioned. The only mention of Israel in Revelation are the 144,000 and the city, Jerusalem, called then “Sodom” or “Egypt” which isn’t meaning beloved. No one at Judgement will be inspected as to how they treated modern Israel. Maybe how they treated the Christians, the brethren of Jesus.
The `rod of iron` rulership will be through Israel over the nations during the millennium. (Micah 4: 1 - 3)
Oh, that’s exactly what the Pharisees believed… the disciples too until Pentecost. Then it was never mentioned again.

Absolutely!!! That is what is happening now.

I see no rapture, only the resurrection which is separated from the wrath by time, a lot of time.

For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. 1 Thessalonians 4:15

  • that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep

The rapture is the “catching up” or “raising up” of those who are alive and remain, at the coming of the Lord.

Grace Lord Grace!
If I were a physical time warp Jew I would have?:
Sabbaths
Holy days
Festivals
etc.

When it comes to Jesus I would think He has a number of days. A redneck would try and not have all his eggs in one basket. Why? Knowing how prone to disaster a redneck is, he might bust them all if he stumbled and fell.

Days of Jesus?:
At creation
In prophecy
At birth
At his suffering death
At his resurrection
At assention
At our / the resurrection
At the return of power to the Father

If our sins are to be forgiven there has to be the shedding of blood.
In fact the shedding of blood of Jesus is the worst day IMHO. Every sin of saved people was was taken care of.
1 Peter 2:24

IMHO there are several days to be examined, and I do not think I have them all organized.

But the verse itself says the dead rise out of the graves first. How can that not be the Resurrection?

Your last paragraph is the eschatology called Futurism. It is view that became popular particularly in the US since the last century.
I do believe in future end time events that have not yet happened yet. Not everything was fulfilled in 70AD as the Preterist teach. Yes, God did pour out His wrath as we read in the OT, but also as we read in the NT of those things Jesus taught us about that must come first before He returns.

The seven trumpets beginning in Revelation 8:6 and ending on the last day when Christ returns are all about Gods wrath being poured out upon all nations and has everything to do with Gods Salvation. Many during this time will repent and turn back to God as they will finally have ears to hear the gospel being preached to them by all those who are still alive at this time and have Gods anointing to preach the Gospel. There are no separate trumpets for the saints and sinners as there are only seven that are sounded by the angels as God sends each one out as the soundings brings in all of Gods wrath upon those who refuse to repent and turn back to Him. God said that He would that none should perish, 2 Peter 3:9. Even though God's longsuffering and patience will come to an end as everyone will have an opportunity to repent as the Gospels will have been preached to everyone, but it is only those who will accept Gods free gift of grace, Ephesians 2:8, by faith will be saved. All Christians including those who at this time of the end have finally accepted Jesus will have eternal life with the Father.

There are three woes in Revelations as each one is worse than the other. The first one starts with the opening of the seventh seal in Rev 8:1 through Rev 9:12 that include the first five trumpets. The second woe starts in Rev 9:13 with the sixth trumpet and ends in Rev 11:14. The third woe starts with the seventh trumpet in Rev 11:15 ending in Rev 20:15.

It's during the sounding of the seventh trumpet as being the last trumpet mentioned in 1 Corinthians 15:52 and 1 Thessalonians 4:16 that during this last trumpet mystery Babylon being the mother of harlots will be revealed as the the son of perdition will be exposed, 2 Thessalonians 2:3. This is the false prophet as he forces all to bow down to him and take the mark of the beast or face persecution even to death as many saints of God at this time will die a martyr's death for their witness and testimony of Christ. Many who are weak in faith will fall away from Christ as they accept this mark as they fear for their own lives as this is the falling away the scriptures speak of in 2 Thessalonians 2:1-3 and Hebrews 6:4-6 as many will be deceived as even now by all the false doctrines that are being taught by man.

It's not until after the seven vial judgements, Rev 16, that mystery Babylon the great is exposed, Rev 17, and then destroyed, Rev 18, as Christ returns in the air with His army of angels, Rev 19:11-21, being only the heavenly host (angels) as no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven, John 3:13. At this time on the last day, John 6:40, Christ will destroy the beast and the false prophet, being the son of perdition, casting them into the lake of fire and slaying the remnant, possibly being the leaders of every nation that the beast out of the sea in Rev 13 controls and gives power to as they rule over the nations.

If you cannot address the issue I brought up, that the word mistranslated as “earth” endeavoring to give the reader the idea of whole planet, (when it actually means “land”), then it’s better if you do not write the above posts.
World, earth and land all mean the same thing in scripture unless the word land is only used for a certain land mass like that of the land of Canaan for an example.

With all due respect to you and how you believe, just because we disagree does not mean I can not write those things you disagree with.

Rev 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

These people still walk among us and will continue to walk among us until the books are opened and then they will be judged and have their part in the lake of fire. These are those who will suffer the wrath of God during the seven trumpets and seven vial judgements that have not happened yet.

That is the Resurrection where the dead rise first. The dead are being Resurrected. Means it is the Resurrection. If you think about it, why do you think the dead are raised from the grave but it’s not the resurrection?

But the verse itself says the dead rise out of the graves first. How can that not be the Resurrection?

1 Thessalonians 4:15 involves the resurrection of the dead in Christ, and the raising up of those who are alive and remain.

Hi Dorothy Mae

Basically the Scriptures answer your claim. The rapture is a resurrection of the spirit of people. The Scriptures tell us in Revelation 20:5 pretty clearly that the first resurrection takes place after God's wrath is poured out upon the wicked; after the spiritual resurrection, the rapture. Then those in Christ, whose spirits have been alive with him in heaven as God poured out His wrath upon the wicked, are resurrected to reign with Christ upon the earth for 1,000 years.

Revelation 20:5 But the rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.

According to the Scriptures, this is the first resurrection. This resurrection that takes place after the vision that John saw of the harvest of the earth, which I believe is the rapture. This resurrection that takes place after Satan is bound and thrown into the pit, which we know hasn't happened yet. This resurrection that takes place after the bowl judgments of God's wrath that is poured out upon the wicked and all of them have been killed and, according to this very passage, still lay dead in their graves as Christ, and those who are his, live 1,000 years with him. The Scriptures themselves tell us in plain understandable language that this is the 'first' resurrection.

Then, after those who belong to Jesus have lived with him for 1,000 years upon the earth, Satan is released and the wicked are again raised unto life and that is when we have the great battle of Megiddo. Then Satan is cast into the lake of fire and all of the resurrected dead, both great and small, will stand before God in the day of His final judgment upon all mankind.

God bless,
Ted

How does a redneck get involved in this thread?

I am not really into jokes, so look at the serious side of this:
(Us 4 and no more Acts 2:4)

We have to be careful to not exclude those who are being saved. I do hear some mention of salvation still happening in some posts.

The great commission has at least 3 main areas:

1. Repentance - sins against the Father.
2. Salvation - Jesus the only name that brings forgiveness.
3. Power to be witnesses - the Holy Spirit Baptism comes from Jesus. ( He it is who will Baptize with the Holy Spirit and fire.)

The One New Man
Jew and Gentile joined.

If we sit soak and sour in our little groups, who will take the Gospel world-wide?

How are all the nations to know what is going on? The Jerusalem council of Acts realized the difference in ministry to the diverse groups. They also gave the right hand of fellowship to the other group / groups (letters to 7 churches of revelation adds others). Revelation (end times) is a long way from Acts?). Or is it? Is it a long way from the Great Commission?

We do not fight against flesh and blood. We want the flesh bodies of all nations born again. Sure there are differences, but out of Jew and Gentile is made One New Man.

Rednecks are clannish, will talk about others behind their backs, etc.
Southern hospitality is not to be fully trusted. If you are dealing with one be careful. Are all rednecks that way? No. Romans 3 says all Jews are not bad. Were some Jews bad? Yes. Are all bad? No. The Jews have the oracles of God. The Gentiles were without God in the world.

In realizing our diversity, we must still be unified in our presentation of the Gospel to all men. If things are getting worse. Let us still fulfill the Great Commission. (And more so as the day approaches).

The Quickening Spirit must get the praise.

Thanks `redneck,

Would love some Southern hospitality, with Kentucky Fried chicken. Can see you have a big heart for the unsaved. Wonderful, as that is the Lord`s great heart. Then we also know that the Lord told us to go and TEACH them all things concerning Himself and His purposes.

So there is much for the Holy Spirit to do through each part of the Body, - pointing people to the Lord, then to encourage the new believer in `feeding` on His word, and walking with the Holy Spirit in daily life.

Finally there is needed of a correct understanding of what the Lord has told us concerning His purpose for the Body of Christ, here on the earth and then in glory.

Hi Ted,

I believe the scripture speaks only of the Resurrection of the body. There is no Resurrection of Spirits which many believe the christian’s spirits are already “with the Lord” so it makes no sense. There is even the first and second Resurrection, no rapture.

God’s wrath has already been poured out against those who pierced his son and murdered countless Christians. Jesus said that generation wouldn’t pass away until it happened. He was telling the truth.

This was the view of the first century christians who left town when they saw Jerusalem surrounded by armies.

God bless
Dorothy
