How much does it cost to charge a EV and time it takes?.

Why don't they have 2 batteries and one charges the other when driving and when low power change over to the other battery and it can recharge the first one like a normal car charges it battery. Then won't run out of power always got a battey running and charging. Wont have to stop and recharge all the time.

I don't even know how power and all mechanics work. Like a alternator thing charges battery, surly a vehicle moving can create power and charge a battery.

Sounds good in theory but not sure if it would work or engineers have thought about it.

Would that work?.

Could just connect the batteries together and double the capacity. Might be an issue with space and weight though. In my boat I use a deep cycle battery to power my electric trolling motor. Mine is a 12v motor so just one 12v battery is required. I have room to have a second battery and this gives me two options. The end result is the same though.

1) Connect my trolling motor to one battery and use it until it gets low, let's say that takes 20 hours, and then reconnect it to the second battery.
2) Connect both batteries in parallel to provide double the capacity so now I have about 40 hours of continuous capacity.

To use an alternator is not free energy. It takes power to generate the electricity. Ever have to jump-start a dead battery on a car? When you connect the two batteries together, you'll hear the engine of the running vehicle labor a little. This is because it takes power to make power. The same is true with a gasoline generator. When lights and other power consuming devices are connected and turned on, you'll hear the generator labor and in most cases the engine rpm will increase to compensate.
 
If it's constantly giving you error codes, maybe there's something wrong that needs attention. If it's constantly giving erroneous error codes, then there is something wrong that needs attention. If you choose not to make the repair, then the onus is back on you.

Weather changes will set off codes, not that you have any of the actual errors. I often need to clear it with a scanner otherwise the light will just stay on. Won't come back on again making it more problematic when you could have an actual error code.
 
That low oil light was put in for the female population. It reminds them to tell their husbands an oil light came on in my car...

Or if you're dumping oil out for some reason and haven't actually seen it due to driving it. Which is why to make sure the oil plug and filter is on tight enough with one rubber gasket, not 2 or 0.
 
Oil level sensors replace the dipstick .it measures volume and pressure over time akin to a maf .

I still check the oil level at least once a week. Typically you want the oil level to stay at the full mark (top it off as needed) and checking the condition of the oil. Full synthetic shouldn't look very dark unless it's time to change it.

You won't truly know the state of oil unt you have it sent off to a lab .

Diesels often will have particulates that can tell or prevent a problem


Ie the metals and also the fuel in it .

With gas it's probably similar .crude oils loose viscosity, synthetic never does and it being black isn't gonna tell you that .I have changed diesel oil and within a month on garbage trucks it was black and not close to the hours and miles for a change and those include the centrifugal filter changed out as diesel oil has sludge problem and also blow by issues

Most cars on diesels don't have a centrifugal filter to remove that sludge
 
You don't need to understand what he says but just see how it comes apart .I have done that exact one a hundred times on Mac garbage trucks .they have a paper filter and or ring and you must clean it in a parts cleaner and that once sludged up is hard to clean .it won't come part easily .you will hear it spin when the engine is shut off .if you don't it's well passed time to replace that filter

If one battery is running and vehicle is moving surely there is someway it can create power to recharge the other battery?. Isn't that even how knenetic energy works?. Honestly I don't know basically nothing about power and energy I only think of ideas. Just draining power until 2 batteries are dead, why not recharge one why the other is running?, maybe it's impossible I don't know, I don't think it is, correct me if im wrong but anything moving and at speed can give some sort of energy back that can be converted back to power?, like the one where you ride the bicyle and can make a light work and when you stop the light goes off, instead of a moving vehicle making a light go why not charge a second battery? . And just keep switching back and forth would it last longer before absolute no power.?

Connecting batteries in parallel which I have worked on cars and heavy equipment that do this .they operate as wip says .a Mac front loader or loader had three 12v batteries a 1000 amp each .one would run it but the other two were needed to start it .the charging system was probably over 100 amps in capacity at a minimum.

What about the wind when driving? That's powerful, that wind could generate some power. It's like a massive intake of constant wind blowing at like 100 miles an hour. Convert that wind when driving.

You can't do that with battery as the fact is solar panels really won't work well for that .I posted the physics on that a 3a trickle will take days to charge one battery .

Plus that would have to be deep cycle batteries.

Sure enough. My sister had an old cadillac that leaked oil, and for some reason (repair costs?) the thing to do for now is buy a case of oil and just keep adding it. Keep checking the oil. She had a case of oil in the back seat but didn't want to pull over on the side of the road. Next exit. Hurry to the next exit, romp on it, bring those rpms up! She never made it. She doan have a cadillac no more...

Yes, you can but you'll expend more energy than what the generator is creating. If it worked as you are suggesting, there would be no need for an external charging system. Another term for that would be a perpetual motion machine where it can generate the power it needs to supply itself and continue running indefinitely. That does not exist to our knowledge.

Here's an example of how it would not work. I once worked in the mining industry in northern Minnesota. The 130 ton production trucks that hauled the ore and rock from the open pit to the crusher were driven by electric motors on the wheels. They didn't use batteries to supply the electricity but instead used a 16 cylinder diesel engine to run a generator. That's the kind of power that was needed to operate those trucks. It takes quite a bit of power to generate electricity.

A more likely possibility is to install solar panels on the vehicle to recharge it even while it is running. A problem with that idea is that the solar panels would have to be designed so that they didn't add drag to the vehicle otherwise, the drag would consume more energy than the energy created by the panels.

When I was a kid in my mid teens, I had a headlight on my bicycle. It was not powered by batteries but instead was powered by a little generator that rode against one of the tires on my bike. When I was not using the light, I would just pivot the generator wheel off my bike tire. It was amazing how much harder it was to pedal my bicycle when that generator was riding on the tire. And that was just for powering a single flashlight type bulb.

On the subject on EVs in cold weather. You have to have it plugged in to keep the batteries warm right?

When discussing this people on social media who claim to be experts and they don't have issues with the cold, like Norway for an example they don't discuss the fact we're not going to have a charging outlet for every parking spot. Even if we did its kind of like we don't have them now and asking people to buy vehicles that does not do well in subzero cold weather is a huge morality issue.

I'm also well aware of the problems internal combustion engine vehicles have when in the cold but are perfectly manageable, keep fresh fuel in the tank, other regular maintenance needs to be done including a strong battery.

What bothers me more than anything is those who continue to push this technology without telling people of the problems associated with electric vehicles. It's one thing to tell people about electric vehicles and telling them the pros and cons but I often notice people only telling people of the positives.

When you don't tell people that charging stations dont work all the time or you need to be able to keep the vehicle plugged in when its left outside just shows there is a hidden agenda. Yeah if fewer people do buy them the technology will take longer to advance but at the end of the day if you let God handle it, things will work out better.

The reality is that we will still rely on oil for as long as it takes. The reality is that this technology isn't ready today and many people are going to stick with what works best for them.
 
Whether people will admit it or not the politicians are forcing EVs. I have a friend in the auto industry that is saying ICE is being pushed aside even though EVs are nowhere near ready. They're at least 20 years out. Only a handful of people are pushing back on this but the U.S. EPA is on it's way to force 50% of EV sales.

That means if you can only sell 200,000 EVs a year, you can't sell more than 200,000 ICE vehicles. This whole thing has been orchestrated and they don't care about who its going to hurt. I get it some people actually want EVs but a lot of this EV push is based on lies and manipulation. In 2030, the politicans don't want to give people a choice.

And many people behind this push are Satan worshippers. I've been trying to warn people of this and thought progress was made, well many people don't want EVs.. but that's not going to matter. Even if EVs were perfectly ready if you have to lie and manipulate to get people to buy them then it's wrong.

I don't think I have to remind people that they would rather ignorantly do wrong than to take the time to do things right. I know some may disagree but stop, start praying and think on how this will affect millions of people. Not everyone is evil but they often don't understand what they are doing is wrong. Sometimes they do wrong because they are upset.

However much of what the media says is just another lie to make people calm down. If someone was to do something in an evil manner and they're plotting this, do you really think they will announce it? These people are smart and while they seemingly backed off, they're just doing this behind closed doors.

And EVs will not be ready in 8 years. They have 100s of issues that is not going to be solved in this time frame.


I've been pushing against EVs because I know people will not have what they need. I don't have what I need. I'm not spending any money on an EV now or in the future. ICE is all I have and even if I were to lose a vehicle I need the opportunity to get another one and that cant happen when these politicians and the left get their way. They don't care, they want the end of ICE.


What they are doing is evil.

This is bigger than EV’s, it’s also about energy and supporting the grid.

Take a look at Ultium commercial which will be a game changer for many business and manufacturing facilities by reducing power demand from the grid during peak hours. Or even Ultium home which will support solar and function similar to their commercial package where it will draw energy from the battery pack or even your car during peak hours to reduce power costs.

Battery and all photovoltaic work in DC,we use ac.

Early power grids were DC.theres a reason why we use ac .the conversion and storage in that idea is why I see a problem .as it must be recharged and I know even in Florida fpl has says those 100 acre or more solar farms often don't produce
