Well, in fact the word "philosophy" has a much wider meaning if you trace it back to its original Greek origins. It really encompasses any academic field that professes to investigate the fundamental meaning of life and existence. This can include such diverse areas as science, theology, language, economics, astronomy and what we now think when we say, "philosophy".

Yes, philosophy itself is a specific field and you can get a Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctorate in Philosophy.

Thank you.

Umm,.. getting back to the topic at hand, welcome to another edition of today's news. :) We have a very short report today but I'm going to bounce right into it anyways. :boing

First of all in today's news this first story made me cringe. :erm Apparently there is such thing as black "hair" that grows on your tongue. (yuck!) Here's more of the information.

And the reason why I'm posting this article is that I never heard of flights to Iceland before and so I find that part very interesting. I always thought that it was too cold for anyone to visit anytime of the year, but I guess that there are people that live there though. :shrug

https://fox8.com/2018/09/05/two-iceland-air-carriers-stop-flights-from-cleveland-during-winter/

And I do believe that this program should be offered everywhere and anywhere. I find it to be an excellent idea! :idea

Finally in today's news although it wasn't by much, The Cleveland Indians earned another victory as they beat The Kansas City Royals three to one yesterday! :woot

That's all for today's news! (I told you that it was brief) Anyways, have a wonderful day and stay tuned for more news to come! :yes

Yes, finally something that makes sense in keeping children drug free. Test and treat the children who abuse. The current drug wars are counter productive.

The Indians are doing well.

Iceland can be pretty during the summer (pictures tourists took are amazing). Its too dark in the winter though. Not much of a tourist attraction when the sun never rises.

Have a wonderful day too.

Welcome to another edition of today's news. :) We have a rather lengthy report today unlike yesterday so just bear with me on this. :yes

https://fox8.com/2018/09/06/video-shows-lion-hop-into-safari-vehicle-full-of-tourists/

That's all for today's news! And I just wanted to say for those of you who didn't read my breaking news update yesterday, I'm afraid that Burt Reynolds is no longer with us. :sad So I just wanted to say rest in peace and hopefully he was saved and in a better place now. :halo Have a wonderful weekend everybody and God bless you all! :biggrin2

The elderly should carry around a cell phone. That 75 year old man in the car could have called for help. They only cost like $30 from Amazon, and $120 per year connection from TracPhone.

I hope Burt was saved too.

I suppose lions raised by people in zoos tend to be tamer. I'm glad everyone was safe on that bus.

Nice that the puppy was okay.

May the Lord bless you too.

I just watched the video of the lion and it was rather cute and funny. It was behaving like a great big dog or something. :lol However, I still don't think there is such thing as a tame lion since God created all of them to be wild animals. Any lion that wants to attack you and eat you will so as you said, thankfully everybody was alright.

Welcome to another edition of today's news. :) We have another really short report today, (thank goodness after yesterday's :thud) but before we get started with that here's a video to a story I wasn't originally going to post (since I'm getting sick and tired of reporting stories about violence and I'm trying to narrow it down) but since I just watched the video myself I decided that I will. (I personally hat violence anyway. :sad)

Alright, now on with today's report! :salute

First of all in today's news, a woman injured in the Ohio State fair ride incident that occurred last year recently passed away. Here's more of the details and my thoughts and prayers go towards her friends and family members. :pray

https://fox8.com/2018/09/07/romance-novelist-accused-of-murdering-her-chef-husband/

And also in sports although it was a very close game, The Toronto Blue Jays wound up beating The Cleveland Indians three to two last night. Ah well,.. as I've said before, you can't win them all. :shrug
