And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not to men.
-COL 3:23

Thoughts on Today’s Bible Verse:
No matter what we do, we should do it from deep within our hearts, as opposed to going through the motions outwardly.
We all know God is God Himself with great power and He examines the innermost heart of us. If we don’t do anything from our hearts, then regardless of how much we do, we cannot be approved of by God. So, we should do anything before Him with a God-revering heart rather than show off to others. If we just do something well in front of people in order to make them regard us as people with a sense of responsibility. But when nobody is with us, we go through the motions, then we don’t face God to fulfill our duties. We should know that everything we do is in the eyes of God and needs to be observed and tested by Him. Hence, we should set aright our heart and do everything before God, and try our best to satisfy Him. Just as God’s words say, “Do not do things before men; you should do them before God. By accepting God’s observation and inspection, your heart is set aright. If you are always concerned with acting for people to see, then your heart will never be set aright. Also, when you act do not act for yourself. Do not take into account your own interests. Do not take into account the interests of man. Do not take into account your own position, face, or reputation. First take into account the interests of God’s house. Put the interests of God’s house first. Be considerate of God’s intention. Consider these first: Are there impurities in your performance of your duty? Are you fully devoted? Have you fulfilled your responsibility? Have you expended your full effort? Do you act with all your might and heart out of consideration for your duty and the work of God’s house? You must consider these things. When you account for these things, you will not fall too short in the performance of your duty.

Great post.

I have a question.

When you refer to “God’s house”, could you clarify what you are referring to?

Thanks JLB

Colossians 1:
9 For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; 10 That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; 11 Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness; 12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:

JLB,
There have been instances over time where I have been so spent with you that I have been unable to recall this entire chapter and more specificly this Key Verrse when addressing some of your published remarks but now, instead of Bible Study Research you appear to be ignoring the clear definition given in the early portion of the chapter of not only who resides in the but that JB, I, many others, relatively, and prayerfully I presume, you walk in that House. Not built with hands and not seen with thyenatural eye.

JB, be careful, out of context the wolves are viciouse.
