Our best source for information is Gods word..the only drug i can find in Gods with any accuracy has been glazed over..of all the drugs the world is bantering about they've left the deadliest drug untouched..the one in Gods word.,Does anyone else think that's strange besides me?

Who is the king of the drug world?

Who claims 50 times more lives than all the illegal drugs combined? Who costs the American people 130 billion dollars every year to mop up it's blood-bath of human slaughter? Who destroys 1 in every 4 families in America? Who kills over 200,000 Americans each year? Is it crack? Is it cocaine? Could it be heroin?
No, the undisputed heavy-weight champion of the drug world and number one killer of Americans is KING ALCOHOL

And nobody dares utter a peep!

THANKS TO KILLER ALCOHOL .

  • There are over 18 million alcoholics in America
  • Cirrhosis of the liver kills over 30,000 each year and rising
  • 50 percent of the people on welfare are due to killer alcohol
  • 80 percent of all fire deaths are due to killer alcohol
  • 65 percent of the drownings
  • 22 percent of home accidents
  • 77 percent of falls
  • 36 percent of pedestrian accidents
  • 65 percent of all murders
  • 40 percent of all assaults
  • 35 percent of all rapes
  • 30 percent of other sex crimes

Let's wage a war on crack, on cocaine, on heroin, and marijuana! BUT DON'T DARE EVEN MENTION KILLER ALCOHOL!

During the Viet Nam war, 57,000 Americans gave their lives fighting for this country. A wailing wall was built in Washington with each soldiers' name engraved. But in that same 9-year period, when 57,000 died in Viet Nam OVER 2 MILLION AMERICANS were killed by killer alcohol! During the Viet Nam War, thousands of protesters were all over this country. What I want to know is where are the protesters against killer alcohol?

WHERE IS JANE FONDA WHEN WE REALLY NEED HER?
Nobody opens their mouth against killer alcohol! Nobody makes a sound! Who speaks out for over 7 million young children that live a life of child abuse, incest, and torture? Their little life is a hell on earth because of killer alcohol!

I will never drink but prohibition worked right? You want the govt to poison beer to stop you from drinking ? Oh they did that. They could start treating it like they are treating all other substances they deem harmful instead of pointing fingers to get votes..

That's what the feds did to stop drinking. It wasnt in the law but they put a foul taste in it and and killed .feds said shouldn't have drank the beer.

I have no love for beer but history is showing prohibition don't work

Alcohol itself is not a problem. Excessive use or abuse of alcohol is the problem. There are a lot of things that when used to excess will do harm including some that we actually need like water, oxygen, salt, and many vitamins.

I'm thinking that this statistic is off.

Out of 3 sets of grandparents I have 6 aunt's and uncle's who all married and had kids.

None of those families have been destroyed by alcohol.
A few have had drug problems...which eventually took their lives.
One great grandfather was a drunk and died youngish (60) from excessive drinking we think but it was actually cancer that killed him. But even still while my great grandfather was alive he and g.grandmother adopted an orphan during WWII. That adopted uncle is doing great.

So...
Where I agree with you that alcohol abuse can and does cause trouble your statistics are off to a good degree.

Now maternal parentage and relatives have several moonshiners in the mix. One I knew and liked personally.
Paternal side we have several felons.

Cancer, drug addicts, and heart disease taking those who didn't just die of extreme old age.

I've had my own struggle with alcohol, and is the reason why I don't drink it today. As long as people have a sinful nature, there will be a problem with that, and with drugs, etc. Abuse of alcohol and drugs is abuse of the body. It's akin to the sin of gluttony. As long as people make their flesh their master, there will be serious issues with such things. This is why Jesus came, to deliver us from that bondage and set us free to do God's will. We should be talking about how the gospel transforms our way of thinking that results in transformation of life.

Alcohol is more of a problem than street drugs. Probably also more of a problem than rx drugs. Few people care. It is deeply entrenched in the culture. I choose to abstain, personally. Keep in mind that i support decriminalization of all drugs and the harm reduction model. The church has an obligation to say....something, do something, on a group level, engage the culture, etc.

That's right Brother. Even scripture says to give wine to the sick or dying I think.
I never had a problem with alcohol. I drank like a fish with my brothers when we were teenagers, but before I even came of legal age to drink I sat it back down. Too bad my brothers didn't but I just thought, I don't want to be that guy.

Wine isnt strong in biblical days.

Whine in old Florida accounts was used as such
Love well water yeah ,swamp water with parasites that's what they drank. Low level alcohol ,not enough to get.a Buzz,if I drink a gallon or two of today's whine at work in would get a DUI

I saw a response about poisoning beer, and thought of this one: ethyl alcohol is the type of alcohol in beverages. It is sold as a "rubbing" alcohol for therapy, and it is poisoned with a very bitter substance so that people won't drink it. But beer and wine is for the purpose of drinking, so to poison it doesn't make logical sense.

Well, caffeine is not the worst, but it is a drug nonetheless. It is put into soft drinks and energy drinks for the purpose of "refreshment." Yet, how much does caffeine influence agitation, stress, ill health, and all other things that lead to sinful behavior? A little leaven leavens the whole lump.

I knew a man who was a drug addict until he found Christ and repented by reason of the fear of God. But thinking energy drinks were ok, he used them to sustain himself through his work day. Then his wife began accusing him of being back on drugs because of the way he was behaving.

Yes. However, opiates are far more addictive physically and much more powerful even in very small doses and that is why they require prescriptions when used legally.

Old article based on the amount going on the bible verse,very low alcohol.bible verse mentioned.

You don't think water problems ended after revalation was penned? Surely cultures kept doing that until modern treatments was invented.
