Fake News is everywhere these days.
But for whatever reason people still believe it...and it's almost impossible to get people to disbelieve even though it's proven false.

Even President Trump has been taken in by this stuff...
The HCQ fake News is just one example if this. It's continuing promotion is an example of the fallout from this Fake News. HCQ affects bacteria...not viruses and is effective as an aspirin is for the flu. But we still have people here who are trusting in this stuff as if there is a conspiracy to keep it from being known as the sole known cure.

One day during the time period that Obama was President, Syrian hackers gained control over a State Department website to say that the Whitehouse had been bombed and the President was injured. The stock market instantly collapsed until it was removed and fixed... none of the news agencies picked up on it and the market recovered...but it definitely took some puffing to set things straight.

Nowadays video editing is easier than ever. And video trickery is being employed in this delivery of fake news.
Making people appear places they never went saying things they never said.

It's to the point that you can not believe anything you hear and only half of what you see.

This is not about politics.
Although this does affect politics at times.

It's about false news stories being inserted into reputable news agencies with accompanying videos.
I've cited two examples that contain politicians but have had drastic results that aren't political in nature. None of this is about political rhetoric.

i saw this democrat thank trump for saving her life by mentioning hcq - she was dying from covid 19 until she insisted the doctors give her the zpack-hcq protocol - and now she lives:

that's the thing - people take sides and call good stuff fake

it's really tough trying to sort through what's true and what's false

when it's partisan that makes it even harder

researching and praying are the 2 things i do to decide what's true

listening to christian news sites rather than msm is another thing that helps me know what's going on

big pharma has a lot to gain by producing NEW expensive vaccines - cures - etc rather than allowing the public to use time-proven cheap as dirt cures

msm has a lot to gain by endorsing big pharma

the truth tellers have nothing to gain by going against big pharma and msm - on the contrary they have much to lose

i take all these factors into consideration as i listen to all sides and pray my way through the garbage looking for the truth

There is only one that has been given to Vanderbilt to analyze the data concerning one new antiviral drug that can possibly do what we really need. There are two others on HCQ and whether it is effective on covid-19. They don't look promising. It's really not helping.
The information on the new antiviral is being kept quiet...there are good reasons for the secrecy I can't get into at the moment. But it's not that much money.

But also there is a lot of research into many of the effects this virus has on people and exactly which antibody works the best at fighting this virus.

There isn't the collusion or conspiracy going on that you are hinting at. These people aren't angels but they aren't doing what the conspiracy theorist claim.
Besides...there's too much focus on this stuff right now for anything shady going on.

as trump said - there are not many people to choose from

he tries to pick the best available people and when they screw up he fires them

too bad there aren't better quality people available for positions

Don't limit oneself to one news source, follow multiple news reporting sites.
That will ensure a degree of cross checking especially if at least one source is from for you a hostile political source.

Have at least one pay for news source.
Free roofing sites are scrambling for headlines to get and keep the numbers that get them advertising revenue. That scramble does lead to corners Beng cut in the fact checking stage of investigative journalism.

Be realistic about conspiracy.

Don't believe headines, read the article what as said done etc is often difeentrom salines.

Disbelieve Facebook, Twitter etc etc rumours.

Just because headlines and all news reporting is book and doom it still is not grounds for us to panic.
