I see there is possibly a new directive that may come from the CDC that would recommend double masking? I don't think I would be able to comply. I have noticed recently that while wearing one mask I often find myself feeling a little short of air. It's subtle but it's enough that I can notice it. Doubling up would reduce the ability of the mask(s) to allow the transfer of air and I would have to draw the line between masking and breathing. Sorry folks but if this comes to pass and people don't feel comfortable enough with me wearing one mask, I'll have to draw a line in the proverbial sand and kindly ask that they make the better choice and keep their distance and I'll do likewise.

what I dont get is the thought a vaccine will eradicate this virus .

I got the Spanish flu years ago ,no vaccine was ever given for that and that was a bad pandemic

I think it's ridiculous. If you thought it was hard to breathe with one, wait until two are on...I mean, how are people supposed to breathe if they can't get fresh air?

I don't comply wish masks anyway. The only time I do is if I have to be in a medical setting and they're downright rude - like literally won't talk to you without the mask on, but even then, that makes me extremely uncomfortable. No way I'm wearing two, I can barely breathe with one.

The masks never worked in the first place so it's about time we start getting rid of them and just getting on with life.

I just saw a news report that the CDC now says that wearing masks reduces the chance of transmitting the virus by about 95%. However, I also saw the results of a study that was conducted a few years ago that masks are only about 5% effective, which is just upside down of what the CDC is saying now. Notice that the study I am talking about was done before Covid-19 was even known so it is not politically slanted with regard to Covid. That study was done over 10 years ago because they were trying to determine if masks should be worn by surgeons. Apparently there is an issue with prolonged mask use where cognitive abilities begin to deteriorate. Imagine if a surgeon isn't able to think straight or rationally while in surgery.

Masks are a poor solution anyway, because it focuses on the prevention of the spread of an infection from people who are already infected. The better solution, and the only real protection against the virus, is filtration because it purifies the air before it goes into the lungs.

If you ask what happens to the particles that come out of an infected person, the answer is always that whatever they exhale is contaminated air. Therefore, the only way to purify that air is to filter every particulate from it that contains the virus. The most effective way to do that is to force all air through a filter. But since no such filter exists that is designed to filter the exhaled air, the most viable solution is to use an existing tool that has been designed to filter the air that is being inhaled.

If the air is not being filtered by a particulate filter that can guarantee a substantial blocking of the virus particles, then it is inevitable that some of those particles will be present in the environment due to the fact that every breath has gone into the environment.

The most concerning part of it though is that not only does the mask fail to prevent the particles from going into the environment and into the lungs, but it effectively traps and accumulates the infection right in front of the nose and mouth so that even if the person's immune system was having a good chance at staving-off the infection, it is being subjected over and over to the repeated inhalation of the virus particulates that would have otherwise been left outside of the body.

Definitely a scary thought if a surgeon can't think right in surgery. I had this whole paper someone at a farmers marker was handing out. I don't have it anymore, but it was older studies done by a doctor/surgeon and how they found that masks didn't help and the outcome was better when no one was wearing a mask...I wish I could remember the name of the doctor so I could look it up again.

There are chemicals in masks and they can't be good to breathe in. Of course people would be better off with a homemade or fully cloth mask, but they don't work.

I know there was a video when a guy went in sub-zero temperatures with a mask on and you could still his his breath vapor.

My husband was required at work to wear a mask all day long every day of work. We still ended up with COVID that we are sure was from his work place because we hadn't really gone out anywhere at that time and no one we knew was ill.

In places where they have mandatory masks do they would have some sort of exemption for people with conditions or those who find it harder to breathe?. People need to be able to breathe as comfortably as they can.
Here, there is a clause for medical exemption in the mask mandate that was signed into action by our mayor. I have the order printed out and in my bag with that clause highlighted in case anyone gives me grief about it. Most places don't care, though - they are still rude to you or say, "You need to wear your masks." The most unforgiving are urgent cares and other medical establishments. I was in an urgent care and the nurse wouldn't even tell me what the doctor's solution to my problem was until I put my mask back on (I had to take it off so the doctor could look at the injury). So, not only did I have a facial injury, but she was a rude nurse.

Anyway, I'm terrified of having a seizure and not being able to get a mask off of my face. Not to mention when that happens, my oxygen levels plummet and that could be a dangerous situation.

You can buy masks with little pockets that accept N95 inserts then you are, in effect, double masked.

it gets better

imagine doing that in florida in the summer and it won't slow the virus at all.
