Hello! My name is Alexandria and I am a relatively new Christian; I am 29 years old and work full time. I enjoy Bible journaling, and listening to worship music. I've come here because I feel led to engage with others on the topic of faith and Scripture. I look forward to meeting all of you.

God bless and keep you,
Alexandria

Blessings in Christ to you, Habracha, and welcome to Christian Forums.

What exactly is Bible journaling, if I might ask?
Bible Journaling is the process of taking notes regarding a selected passage in your Bible. This can include the Scripture itself, any applicable themes (some "study Bibles" have these listed as pretext of the book), key-words, et cetera. Right now I'm working on Mark — let me know if you'd like me to take a picture of my notes.

A very warm welcome to our forum, Alexandria. I hope you have a great time.

Blessings.

LoL. :lol Well I can always relate to those who love spending time in the word of God.

No pictures necessary, though, unless you are so proud of it you simply can't resist. :)

May the LORD's blessings overflow upon you! I felt moved to share this with you;

God bless,
Alexandria

EDIT: If you turn on the captions, you can see both the Hebrew and English translation!
Beautiful is the face of Adonai. God will never leave us or forsake us. Thank you for that inspirational video

Haha. I've only just started to scratch the surface with Scripture, I've only had a Bible for around 4 months, I just read Haggai and Ruth today; I've been trying to read in smaller pieces as I did a bit of a plunge and read the Pentateuch in a month when I first got it. God helped me realize that I was piling too much information on myself and needed to slow down.

It's absolutely one of my favorites. I don't understand Hebrew but I can sing this song. I feel a love welling up inside me when I hear it. ♥

Wisdom!

It is not how much you read, but how much you retain. :) Whenever I learn something new from the Lord that's significant to me, all reading stops. I'll take the next few hours or even the rest of the day to work it into my memory before moving on. If not, you find the Lord having to teach you the same things over and over again rather than really progressing. You'll think you're learning something new, and suddenly realize, "Wait a minute... I seem to recall learning this before," Lol.

I know what you mean as I have a CD of Hebrew worship songs that came with English words to read and it just carries me away in the Spirit of God.

I've definitely had that feeling before. I've felt the gentle corrections, guidance, and the reprimand when I've done something wrong. He's been very patient with me. He's walked me through my tendency to drown myself in information by gently letting me know that it's okay to take baby steps.

Everything I used to do in my life was done in excess, and overloading myself with whatever I was doing or had an interest in at the time. I listen to worship music, find forums like this, look at Jesus-aligned content online, to fill the spaces in between Scripture reading. I'm sure it wasn't created to crunch 24/7 without doing anything else, which is effectively what I was doing when I was jobless. I had to take a big step back because after a while it started to stress me out that I couldn't retain anything I was reading, whereas I read multiple books at once before. It's like trying to level a scale.

Yes, I agree -- I listen to Yamma Ensemble as well, they're very good. I like when they sing Psalms of David. It just feels earthy, and connected to God when it's sung in Hebrew. ♥

Wouldn't it be nice. But I found it impossible as well. That's why God created video games.
I felt so much frustration with not being able to comprehend or remember everything I read. It reminded me of the scene in the Breakfast Club where it was "Win, win, win." I put a lot of pressure on myself and can just hear Him saying, "Relax."
