Employees shouldn't do anything because if hurt stopping thieves, lawyers will sue until the stores are bankrupt.
Police could stop this in a day, but its like society has gone insane. The politicians who support this breakdown in society are more popular now than in the past.
Its amazing how Bible prophecy predicted this generation of the end:

We live in a democracy and the politicians doing this are not being voted out. So the people are to blame for voting in evil doers.

It seems we have this type of thread periodically.
It has always been the law that everyday employees can't touch perpetrators. Its assault. You have to have specific employees and law enforcement for that.
It's not just Democrat policies but the combination of inflation and police availability. Police can't stop this in a day. Police are reactive, and unless they are aware of the crime about to take place, they have nothing to respond to. This has been a case, even before Trump or Obama took office, so it's not a BLM thing. Shortage of available Police has been a long standing problem in urban centers. Generally stores will leave an area if shrink (Shoplifting, damage, lack of demand) is higher than profit. It's an issue that's growing due to a combination of inflation and wage.

Yes it is Democrat policy, but they will keep winning elections because they have learned the art of manipulation, deception. In the last 30 years "the art of persuasion" has made facts irrelevant.
Only when reality truly bites you in the ass, will their hold on you break. We aren't there yet. People must first be slaughtered, raped and robed in broad daylight, everywhere so no one feels safe. Then perhaps, the same Democrats will begin losing elections.
And you will stop blaming Fox News, who serve only to distract from those with real power who could fix this.
That's part of the problem. The "science of persuasion" has far exceeded anything "propaganda" could do in the past. Reality doesn't have any effect on many voters. They vote for "equity, fairness," not "bigoted law and order." And they will continue to do so until it gets so bad, even they will demand change.
We aren't there yet, things have to get a whole lot worse before voting patterns change. Until then, its all Fox News and Trump's fault, and them bigoted right wingers, even though they have no political control where the cities are self destructing. "The science of persuasion" have convinced voters, THEY are the problem, not the criminal raping your children and murdering your family.

Well, this is only in the USA. It is not a worldwide tendency. But where does it say in the last days perilous time will come and people will steal?
But what can we expect when the church is no longer a light and preachers themselves fleece the flock and no one calls them out? Rome is the worst place for pick pockets in all of Italy and I see this as a pattern as the Vatican picked the pockets of Catholics for centuries. When the leaders are allowed to steal, this spreads throughout. And the once tendency to wrongly sue people for your own mistakes has blossomed into out and out stealing goods.
What the thieves do not know is that God will visit the wrong for their sins upon them. They will not get away with what they have done.
The NWO of the Antichrist is coming. Leftist Tyranny is its preamble. Under the guise of equity and fairness Christians will be hunted and slaughtered soon, the "haters gotta go."
Because the science of persuasion has advanced far beyond what seemed possible just a few decades ago, our emotions can be manipulated to make us ashamed of anything we once believed.
Pick your cause. Politicians are thieves, that is why they vote for trillions of Government waste, they get a piece of it. Satan is working to bring about his NWO, name the human accomplises and causes he is using.
I'm not focused on that, I preach Jesus and 100% reliance on Scripture. But I'm not blind, I can see reality no longer rules the roost. Its all about emotions, feelings.

The issue is growing because they do not enforce the law and the lawbreakers know they can break the law and skate . The thefts are one of the things driving the inflation ! The retailers have to account someway for the shrinkage .
It is interesting America can degenerate so quickly, even faster than Europe. Its not a stretch "Thievery " be caused by some of the attitudes listed here:

The apostasy is picking up steam, affecting all of Christendom not just Catholics.
But we haven't seen the worst. Stealthily, Ancient Alien Theory is grabbing the imagination of the population, its causing a massive rise in Atheism. Many now believe God is an Extraterrestrial.
What could cause the "great rebellion" against all called God or worshipped (2 Thess. 2:2-3), is if Satan and his angels appear in the sky in UFO ships. Fallen angels can do that and it is predicted God will stop restraining Satan's ability to deceive (2 Thess. 2:6-8).
Time will tell if that is the catalyst for the NWO. If Extraterrestrials appear, they likely would demand the creation of a NWO, Revelation 13:1-5 predicts it is coming.

Curious. You don't believe "lovers of money" might be inspired to become thieves; or "unthankful, unholy, unloving" people might become thieves?

Yup AutoZone increases its prices often . The homeless have stolen things right in front of me and my manager .
One we caught ,the other we couldn't .
Stealing led light bulbs . I could go into arcade and crime. And how the homeless have sex in bathrooms,use drugs.
My sture mgr kicked out two homeless people during a hard rain .they just walk around the counter grabbed a chair and sat and he asked are you here to buy.? They said nope and he said get out .

No, Iknow some wealthy lovers of money and they don’t steal. There’s not necessarily a connection. Choosing between loving God or money isn’t connected with stealing in scripture either.
They want something they don’t have and have no morals against stealing it.
