It was mentioned today on one of the talking head shows that young Jahi McMath had a heart attack, which played a large role in her death (or not) . All we really know for sure about her situation is that she had a tonsillectomy.

I am curious about the connection between the sleep apnea and tonsillectomies. Jahi McMath was said to have sleep apnea prior to surgery.

tounsils sit near the airway, they can close the air way. I have large tounsils but no issues. mine show up on dental xrays. docs wanted to remove mine simply because they were that big. mom said no after she asked is their problem with them other then that? they said no and I still have them.

I worded the question in the wrong way ... :rofl2

I should have worded it: I am curious about the neck/throat construction of those who have suffered complications after tonsillectomies prompted by sleep apnea.

(In my mind, that's what I asked. Obviously, my fingers typed out the Petite Readers Digest Condensed version)

she will have surgery, they feel the risk must be taken, they will remove her tounsils, adenoids and places tubes in her ear drums.
