Galatians 5:17
17For the flesh craves what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are opposed to each other, so that you do not do what you want.
I agree that Romans 2:12-14 is talking about people who have never heard about the law of Moses. The law they will be judged by is the law of nature and the law of conscience through which the will of God may be written on their heart. They have a more limited knowledge of the will of God. Their...
I am sure. The "he does not know it" is not in reference to not knowing what the law says and sinning, but rather not knowing that one has sinned. It's a matter of unintentionally sinning vs. intentionally sinning.
I suppose if I was Jesus, I would have taken the disciples through passages like these:
Isaiah 53:8
8For He was cut off from the land of the living;e He was stricken for the transgression of My people.
Isaiah 53:9
9He was assigned a grave with the wicked, and with a rich man in His death...
Yes, no age of accountability is found in the Bible because that varies person to person. But accountability itself is in the Bible. And it's linked to when you can 'see/hear':
John 9:40-41
40Some of the Pharisees who were with Him heard this, and they asked Him, “Are we blind too?”
41“If you...
I agree that the sin was not their nakedness. Their sin was disobeying God's command. Through their failure to keep the command their nakedness was exposed.
Their shame was in the nakedness of their unrighteousness. Through the commandment they realized they were naked, having no righteousness...
Actually, this is a very good question.
Marry someone uglier and more out of shape than you.
No, seriously. Have this same conversation with them that you are having with us. And as far as getting a peak ahead of time without sinning, set a date to go to the beach.
What were they not perfect about before they sinned? Imperfection is relative to a commandment. They had no commandment by which to be imperfect. And what shame can they have for a nakedness they did not know they had, yet? Their failure to keep the commandment exposed their nakeditity.
The...
We should not confuse Adam and Eve's nakeditity with that of being sinful. You become a sinner when you sin. And you become accountable for that sin when you understand the difference between right and wrong and can respond accordingly, in knowledge. And you die when you choose to sin after...
The Bible tells us to not be ashamed, but to glorify God for bearing that name.
1 Peter 4:16
16But if you suffer as a Christian, do not be ashamed, but glorify God that you bear that name.e
My favorite. Talos in Jason and the Argonauts.
When I was a little feller, in 1967, I remember waking up very early one morning while it was still dark because I was sick and my dad was watching this in the living room on television. Scared me to death, lol.
