  • Hi there, Rachel; yes, sounds like the lady you mentioned needs to 'gird up the loins of (her) mind', as Paul says. Re. high heeled boots: you probably know more about them, the styles, etc., than I do; my wife did have some, and she likes a bit of heel but doesn't use the really high ones any more (over 50 seems to have that effect, I guess.) She's wonderful :). Blessings.
Rachel: Yes, well, you'll find..or should I say (I'm talking to an adult now) you have already found in all probability that a lot of good folk in Fundamentalist circles want essentially passive ladies always in floppy dresses to agree with everything they say. Anyway, I've got clients in the morning, so must head out. (Re. the boots thing, it was just a lighthearted observation that she started anyway; but anyway it's undoubted that a high heel on a boot makes it more smart and chic.) Blessings.
Some people would be upset, but you with your faith - despite your health problems - can clearly take the rough with the smooth like an adult, anyway.
Hi, Rachel; just to say, no need to be put off by the jude guy with his odd ideas about illness. Presumably if he's a believer and the Lord doesn't come any time soon he will eventually fall ill and die. What he says, doesn't make sense. I know it can be particularly hard for someone with health problems, though, to contend with such nonsense. I love the promise: 'As thy days, so shall thy strength be.' Blessings.
PS: I thought your wrote an excellent post in reply to the misleading ideas about sickness (I replied). Also, don't know if you had a chance to look at the thread on Christian music over the past day or two; never mind if you don't have time, but I also posted it to your sister. Blessings.
Yes, I agree. Legalism and rules can't produce true, Godward modesty, although guidelines are sometimes appropriate. It's no contest between skirts and pants, either, and, like my wife's or yours, around or just above the knee is pretty suitable for church or business. Blessings.
Rachel: I think it's possible to be decent and appropriate without going down the legalistic road (not saying anyone is). I'm sure your mom and sisters look nice in their long skirts. To tell the truth, when my wife wears skirts (with nylons) they are usually just above or on the knee and it looks nice this way, too. In the end, the Lord starts His gracious changes inwardly, right? Ty for your message. Blessings.
Rachel: Oh I'm sure that's true! :) and we have some young ppl in our church aged about 17 that, especially depending on how they are made up, look about 25, too. I guess until they pass the 'magic' 18, there are certain decisions they can't officially make, though. Blessings.
Oh okay, so Caroline is still 17; makes you and Hannah the adults, then. Blessings.
Great that two of your sisters joined; are they like older/younger? Blessings.
PS: replied to your Lyme post. I think we were a bit off topic when we were discussing ear piercing and stuff; so the mods rightly deleted our posts! (Nothing wrong with what we were saying, just not there!) Blessings.
Well, it does take commitment to settle on a design; a lot of Christian men and women have done so, of course (in fact, in North America, 60% of parlor clients are now women; some areas report 70%); but they need to be sure, first. Blessings.
Rachel: Yes, well you must know best what would work best for you; some Christians have e.g., a Bible ref., John 3.16, whatever, that is so precious to them that they have it put ornately on their wrist, etc. with an inking needle. You must know, anyway. Blessings.
Yes; this was the one. On the link that I posted, questdriven talks about doing the same, too, and posted a photo. Kind of temporary tattoo idea, I suppose (except in your case it was almost a permanent tattoo!). Blessings.
YW. Hope you'll be feeling better. FYI, re. the bit on your blog about drawing on hands, etc., on the the forums questdriven just posted a picture and discussion about it, too. Blessings.
