"Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son also may glorify

Who is God?
Romans 3: 25. Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

This means for the Old Testament, shedding of blood, covering of skins, and sacrifice, was a foreshadowing of what was to come. Jesus will be the final sacrifice, from Adam to the cross, all sins were stored up, and then God punished all sins from Adam to the time of the cross, and after, once and for all in one person, Jesus Christ. Likewise, he punished Jesus for all sins of all mankind to the present and eternity. So that when we think of the sacrifice of Jesus, it is the sacrifice of the Son of God for mankind, all the sin was placed upon Jesus and he paid the penalty. What makes a person acceptable in the eyes of God, the realization that only Jesus Christ can atone our sins? His son was the ultimate sacrifice, nothing can be done, and we cannot be saved, unless we go through the sacrifice he gave for our sins. He judged his only Son, who was absolutely just, totally sinless, perfect, pure, righteous, just like God and God condemned him, all his wrath would come upon him. Why would God do that if there was any other way, God made no other way? Not by works of righteousness but by his mercy only and Grace can we be saved? The Son of God, his death at Calvary that makes you acceptable and just in the eyes of God. Jesus had to be crucified, death had to be an outside source, to get sick and die would have been a violation of God’s principle. The public crucifixion was a public demonstration of God’s hatred for sin, and God’s love for mankind. His public crucifixion was a demonstration between two thieves, this awesome God allowing his son the full impact of judgment upon him. Publically, those who loved and hated him saw it; God was demonstrating publically his justice against sin, his love for mankind.

The Story
John 17:1-26 Jesus spoke these words, lifted up His eyes to heaven, and said: "Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son also may glorify You,
as You have given Him authority over all flesh, that He should give eternal life to as many as You have given Him.
And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work which You have given Me to do.
And now, O Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was.
"I have manifested Your name to the men whom You have given Me out of the world. They were Yours, You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word.
Now they have known that all things which You have given Me are from You.
For I have given to them the words which You have given Me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came forth from You, and they have believed that You sent Me.
I pray for them. I do not pray for the world but for those whom You have given Me, for they are Yours. And all Mine are Yours, and Yours are Mine, and I am glorified in them.
Now I am no longer in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, keep through Your name those whom You have given Me, that they may be one as We are.
While I was with them in the world, I kept them in Your name. Those whom You gave Me I have kept; and none of them is lost except the son of perdition, that the Scripture might be fulfilled. But now I come to You, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have My joy fulfilled in themselves.
I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.
I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one.
They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.
Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.
As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world.
And for their sakes, I sanctify Myself, that they also may be sanctified by the truth.
"I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me.
And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one:
I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.
Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; for You loved Me before the foundation of the world. O, righteous Father! The world has not known You, but I have known You; these have known that You sent Me. And I have declared to them Your name and will declare it, that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them."

first, I want to say I Love you
a little note, pictures are to show the theme of what it may look like from the time of Christ into this age, to better understand who is Christ the Anointed One, to show the truth as we know it, I myself use my heart to imagine what He must feel, the greatest love set before us.

The Trial

Matthew 27:1-31 When morning came, all the chief priests and elders of the people plotted against Jesus to put Him to death.
And when they had bound Him, they led Him away and delivered Him to Pontius Pilate the governor.

Then Judas, His betrayer, seeing that He had been condemned, was remorseful and brought back the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders, saying, "I have sinned by betraying innocent blood." blood.jpg
And they said, "What is that to us? You see to it!"
Then he threw down the pieces of silver in the temple and departed, and went and hanged himself. But the chief priests took the silver pieces and said, "It is not lawful to put them into the treasury, because they are the price of blood." blood.jpg

And they consulted together and bought with them the potter's field, to bury strangers in.
Therefore that field has been called the Field of Blood to this day.
Then was fulfilled what was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet, saying,
"And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the value of Him who was priced, whom they of the children of Israel priced,
and gave them for the potter's field, as the Lord directed me."

The Trial Part 2

Now Jesus stood before the governor. And the governor asked Him, saying, "Are You the King of the Jews?" So Jesus said to him, "It is as you say."
And while He was being accused by the chief priests and elders, He answered nothing.
Then Pilate said to Him, "Do You not hear how many things they testify against You?"
But He answered him not one word so that the governor marveled greatly.
Now at the feast, the governor was accustomed to releasing to the multitude one prisoner whom they wished. *
and at that time, they had a

the notorious prisoner called Barabbas.
Therefore, when they had gathered together, Pilate said to them,
"Whom do you want me to release to you? Barabbas, or Jesus who is called Christ?"
For he knew that they had handed Him over because of envy.
While he was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent to him, saying, "Have nothing to do with that just Man, for I have suffered many things today in a dream because of Him."
But the chief priests and elders persuaded the multitudes that they

should ask for Barabbas and destroy Jesus.
The governor answered and said to them, "Which of the two do you want me to release to you?" They said,
"Barabbas!"
Pilate said to them, "What then shall I do with Jesus who is called Christ?" They all said to him,
"Let Him be crucified!"
Then the governor said, "Why, what evil has He done?" But they cried out all the more, saying, "Let Him be crucified!"
When Pilate saw that he could not prevail at all, but rather that a tumult was rising, he took water and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, "

I am innocent of the blood
of this just Person. You see to it."
And all the people answered and said,

"His blood be on us and on our children."

Then they released Barabbas to them; and when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered Him to be crucified.
Then the soldiers of the governor
took Jesus into the Praetorium and gathered the whole garrison around Him.

And they stripped Him and put a scarlet robe on Him.
When they had twisted a crown of thorns, they put it on His head, and a reed in His right hand. And they bowed the knee before Him and mocked Him, saying, "Hail,
King of the Jews!"
Then they spat on Him, and took the reed and struck Him on the head.
And when they had mocked Him, they took the robe off Him, put His own clothes on Him, and led Him away to be crucified.
