Had to take our dog to the vet this morning and on my way home I took a route that brought me along the east shore of our Lake Osakis. Here's a photo of how the ice is moving. Should note that there's about a 4 foot drop down to the water's edge so those sheets of ice are standing up at least 8 feet tall. The ice is also over a foot thick. Amazing power of nature.

Looking underneath ice flows is like looking at the clouds .
Left to right at my marks , Yoda , raccoon , turtle without a shell , baby triceratops .

Wow!!! Never saw ice like that before and I'm from PA originally. Great pics.

The photo doesn't do it justice but the size of some of those rocks are about the size of basketballs.

There's a crack in the ice about a couple hundred yards offshore along that east side of the lake and the section that separated has been getting pushed by the wind and this is what caused this heave at the shore.

Here's a screenshot from one of the local guides that shows where the crack is relative to shore. The blue line is the crack that parallels the shore where I took the photo. The green line is where the crack also crosses the lake. That one appears almost every year either as a crack or a ridge.
