    Some pointers for productive posts

It would also be nice if threads weren't so quickly derailed. Often by the end of the first page the posts haven't much to do with the o.p. Just thought I'd throw it out there.

    Was Noah's Ark a myth?

I think it is myth, but is probably based on a real flood event. Some Christians take it literal, but they believe that the correct translation is a regional flood, not global. However, a local flood interpretation creates more problems than it solves for the literalist view. Allegory would...

Did Peter Piper really pick a peck of pickled peppers?

Good thinking, JoJo. Maybe it is a hoax!

    Question about the Flood

I think the biggest problem for Noah was probably the stench. I mean, all those animals urinating and defecating all over the floor. And with the boat rocking to and fro on the high seas, you know the turds rolled across his feet.

Did Peter Piper really pick a peck of pickled peppers?

No, we already know the answer to that. He picked a peck of them. The question is, "Where's the peck of pickled peppers Peter Piper picked? "

Welcome to the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster!

Yes, it's true. Dawkins should stick to a subject that he knows something about (evolutionary biology). Oh, I forgot, that doesn't make money. That's okay, though. The book has shown everyone his bigoted ways. More revealing, he doesn't know that evolutionary theory has nothing to say one...

Did Peter Piper really pick a peck of pickled peppers?

According to Mother Goose, yes. All we have is her testimony to go on. Mother Goose just asked where the peck was. She didn't deny that it was picked. She stated twice that it was.

Science says the Bible is the Word of God

It was a just a comment. No protocol necessary. I examined the bible code years ago and discovered that it was hokum. It uses a different engine (ELS), but the lubricant is the same: confirmation bias.

    Sabbath

It's good to get some rest, but you aren't observing the 4th commandment unless you're resting on the seventh day and it lasts the entire day. Also, your donkey can't work on that day either. "If you are tired from carrying heavy burdens, come to me and I will give you rest." -Jesus

Science says the Bible is the Word of God

This looks similar to the bible code years ago. If I remember correctly it was demonstrated that one could find the same intriguing results from a Dr. Seuss book.

Biblical proof of NON-inspiration of all scripture.

It depends on whether or not you believe that God, through His Spirit, worked through His people to compile the canon.

    Sabbath

Saturday was the sabbath DAY, but the sabbath day was just a shadow of the real sabbath. Check out Hebrews 4. Sunday is not any holier than Tuesday. Saturday is not any holier than Wednesday. Fridays are better than Mondays.

End Times, Tribulation, Rapture, NWO, anti-christ

True, but that's missing the point of preterism. The end times must have occured within the generation to whom Jesus and the apostles spoke, because that's what Jesus said, and the apostles agreed that it would come very soon. Thus it's irrelevant to try make it fit any time span after the...

    What is wrong with abortion?

And let it be known that conception is the moment at which we become a person. Claiming it occurs during a further stage of development is arbitrary.

End Times, Tribulation, Rapture, NWO, anti-christ

Joshua, I don't know if you have heard of preterism, but I've been looking into (partial) preterism lately and it does indeed seem to make more sense of 'end time' scripture than the 'futurist' view. I'm no theologian though, and I'm still studying it. I thought you may find it interesting.
