    The Derailing Thread Part Two

:woot2 I know those are meant to be eyes and a mouth, but if you look at it another way it looks like a dancing coconut with arms and legs.

If anyone does try to further conversate with me, I'm muting the thread from this point on, so will not see any further posts. Just better for my overall health :thumb :cross

Homosexuality, is it Biblical, or not.

One last link, which is pretty comprehensive and cites its sources: https://postbarthian.com/2017/10/11/clobber-verses-six-scriptures-cited-gays-lesbians-sex-relationships-lgbtq/ I do appreciate those who contributed intelligent conversation, but it's just.... it's tiring, yanno? I apparently...

Homosexuality, is it Biblical, or not.

I have to go to bed, fam. In all honesty, I would prefer not to keep up a rigid debate where every argument is addressed point by point, though that is good as a learning tool. I want to rest and relax during my time off work. I have provided my resources and shown my reasoning for my choice to...

Homosexuality, is it Biblical, or not.

So why didn't Paul use an already existing word for homosexual acts, instead? Androkoites, according to my research, was an existing word at the time.

Homosexuality, is it Biblical, or not.

https://www.stopbibleabuse.org/biblical-references/paul/arsenokoites.html In Greek culture, relationships between men (and particularly between a master and his pupil) were common; they were an important theme in literature, and there was a range of very specific Greek words that Paul could...

Homosexuality, is it Biblical, or not.

Basically, the contestation of the words meaning seems to have to do with history and similar words used in other contexts, rather than the literal translation. A modern example would be how the words "butt dial" and "booty call" would appear to mean the same thing to people who don't know...

Homosexuality, is it Biblical, or not.

https://canyonwalkerconnections.com/library/bible-verses/1st-corinthians-1st-timothy/ Most frequently, arsenokoites was associated with money and exploitative sex; for example:[2] In the Sibylline Oracle, a collection of writings from the second to the sixth centuries, arsenokoites were listed...

All of these and more have been addressed from the affirming standpoint already.

Homosexuality, is it Biblical, or not.

The belief I used to hold was that gay people are called to lifelong celibacy. While I support and admire those who hold to this still, I don't think it's healthy in the long run. The Bible even says that marriage is better than burning with passion.

Homosexuality, is it Biblical, or not.

I think my main thing is, if being gay and partaking in gay marriage is soOoOooOoo bad for society because it disrupts families, then would not chosen singleness also be? If too many people are single and don't reproduce, society fails. And yet.... the Bible speaks highly of singleness.

Homosexuality, is it Biblical, or not.

Complex topic. But again, heavily laiden with opinions, assumptions, and equating correlation to causation.

Homosexuality, is it Biblical, or not.

That's a topic that I feel is impossible to prove. It's opinion only.

Are Doctrines affected by Modern Versions?

I'm guessing this is a KJV only post. I used to be King James only about 10 years ago, I was raised that way. Frankly, that movement has no leg to stand on as all its arguments are based on ignorance and faulty assumptions. It doesn't take a lot of research to figure this out. Yes, some...
