Is Being Against Tatoos the Law?

Okay. Anyway, if you happen to scroll back, various viewpoints have been expressed by posters on the thread. Seems like, whether or not individual Christians choose to get tattooed or not, yet clearly these days it's something that is acknowledged very widely that women do on an equal basis with...

Wow. Must be a bit towards that area along the Idaho border, called Hell's Canyon.

Barbarian: Great photos! so is this Wash. state? it seems rather arid.

Is Being Against Tatoos the Law?

Hi Ms Sandy! Ty for your comment. Yes, I agree about the primacy of the inward; and Paul speaks in Ephesians about cultivating the inner man in true holinesss. Do you think that a modestly place tattoo with faith related content (e.g., Christian fish sign <>< on a wrist, or Bible ref.) can for...

    Fellow Canadians: Happy Canadian Thanksgiving!

PS: I think in the US Columbus Day is the corresponding calendar holiday to Canadian Thanksgiving.

Kind of makes me think more of Iceland or the Himalayas rather than the United States... Blessings.

PS: Sparrowhawke: Did you know that former French President Valéry Giscard d'Estaing is into volcanoes? he is closely involved in a volcano interpretive centre in a mountainous area of France. Blessings.

    Fellow Canadians: Happy Canadian Thanksgiving!

Yes, for Canadians it's Thanksgiving today (6 weeks before US Thanksgiving). Last night the preacher at our local church spoke on the Biblical theme of giving thanks. Very apt!

Favorite styles and types of music?

I really like Jesu meine Freude, both aesthetically and spiritually (not the same thing).

Loving the Lord, not the world

In Galatians 6:14 Paul says that by the Cross, in which he glories, he is crucified to the world and the world to him. So, no, I'm not interested in policing other people's subjective art forms, musical styles, personal preferences, etc. But the underlying spiritual reality between the...

Is Being Against Tatoos the Law?

Wait until another international crisis and another shortage of military personnel and vigorous attempts to recruit more people to the ranks....and you will suddenly find that the Pentagon will have other priorities than to order corporals to keep inspecting the biceps and calves of men and...

Are Christians supposed to watch tv shows?

Another way of approaching this subject is to say: Define the universe and give examples. TV reflects a huge variety of things. For the Christian, pursing what is profitable is a moral duty. Philippians 4:8.

Loving the Lord, not the world

But you and I, unlike John here, are not voicing our views under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. The world and the Lord are at enmity. The Cross is the only solution.

Loving the Lord, not the world

It's a question of emphasis; of moderation versus obsession. If our desires are towards God, then the things of this world should not become our priority. We all have different tastes, and to a large extent these are legitimate, but they should not run to excess.

Favorite styles and types of music?

Bach-style counterpoint is comparable to some heavy metal, certainly. I guess pipe organs were earlier generations' equivalent to 'ghetto-blaster' amplification systems... questdriven would I'm sure share you your liking for really loud heavy metal and hard rock. I do think that worship in...

IS THERE A RAPTURE? Who will go? WHO'S THE BRIDE?

The Epistle is addressed to Christians. It is further qualified by 'we who are alive and remain', who will join those who are 'asleep' (as with Stephen in Acts, a term which denotes death) in the meeting in the air. This is what it says; but I don't want to get into an argument. Blessings.
