    The Process Of Justification

Ok. I guess you're done here, then?

    The Process Of Justification

Wow, there is so much wrong with this paragraph I don't even know where to start. I guess with the fact that you must see that this is an irrefutable fact, otherwise you would at least try to refute it. If it is true that Abraham was justified twice (and it is), that would naturally lead to the...

"Not justified by faith alone..." let that sink in, Jethro. :biggrin2

    The Process Of Justification

He didn't "know it". It's not a statement of fact, it's allegorical. "He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters." "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort...

    The Process Of Justification

"Rules out discussion"? Really? I suppose you would have been fine with this excuse when we were discussing James 2, huh? I mean, James plainly says "we are not justified by faith alone", right? I suppose that would "rule out discussion" on the topic of faith alone. It's false. James says so...

    The Process Of Justification

I agree, if you remove the word "eventually". He was justified in Gen. 15. Rom. 4:13 doesn't say promises, it says promise, singular. The promise he is talking about is the promise that Abraham would be "heir of the world", which was first made in Gen. 12. "and the father of circumcision to...

    The Process Of Justification

Like Abraham had in Gen. 12. A faith that justified him. But the promise was made in Gen. 12, not Gen. 15, as Paul plainly says, and the promise was "through the righteousness of faith". We don't "know", you infer. What we KNOW is that Abraham was justified in Gen. 12. Paul says so...back to work.

    The Process Of Justification

You are the one who mentioned "possessing the land" in answer to my question "when was the promise made?" The verse in question doesn't mention "the land", but that Abraham (or his descendants) would be "heir of the world". That is the promise talked about here: "For the promise to Abraham or...

    The Process Of Justification

Then, it would be in Gen. 12 if "possessing the land" was part of the promise. This is when the land was first mentioned, then it was reiterated in Gen. 15. Unless you believe that God just mentioned "the land" in Gen. 12, then actually made the promise in Gen. 15. But that seems highly...

    The Process Of Justification

Then you agree with me that Justification is a process, proved by Abraham's two justifications. He had faith in Gen. 12 and was justified by that faith. He had faith in Gen. 15 and was justified again by that faith. That makes two times. I will be expecting your mea culpa shortly

    The Process Of Justification

I agree, chronicling from when? I've only got a few minutes here, so let me see if I can cut to the chase a little bit. "For the promise to Abraham or to his descendants that he would be heir of the world was not through the Law, but through the righteousness of faith." (Rom 4:13 NASB) When...

    The Process Of Justification

John Kerry? Couldn't you find a "flip-flopper" from this decade to compare me to? You said that Abraham was justified when he "had faith". The author of Hebrews says Abraham had faith in Gen. 12 (Heb. 11:8). Do you think this faith he had in Gen. 12 justified him? Yes or no...

    The Process Of Justification

You keep asking if I'm real. As far as I know....Yep, I just checked, I am. Please read the OP, the first post in this thread. That proves that Abraham had faith in Gen. 12. So, after you read that and let it sink in, you can come back and admit you're wrong, because that's what the Bible says.

    The Process Of Justification

Then, would that be in Gen. 12, where the author of Hebrews says: "By faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed by going out to a place which he was to receive for an inheritance; and he went out, not knowing where he was going." (Heb. 11:8 KJV, a "real" Bible) This is "the moment he believed"...

    The Process Of Justification

I have read it. Over and over. "In hope against hope he believed, so that he might become a father of many nations according to that which had been spoken, “SO SHALL YOUR DESCENDANTS BE.” When was he told he "would become father of many nations" Gen. 15 or Gen. 17? "Without becoming weak in...

    The Process Of Justification

I just realized that you have not commented on my take that most doctrine comes through inference. You SEEM to be sort of dismissing the whole "inference method" (if that's the right phrase) as second class. I might point out that you are inferring that it's "impossible to be justified twice"...

    The Process Of Justification

If "complete in Him" means that once a person is justified he can never reject that justification or fall away, why was Abraham justified more than once? Does Scripture contradict? Or maybe your interpretation of "complete in Him" is faulty.
