Is Being Against Tatoos the Law?

Deborah13: Does Lexy broadly agree with you here, maybe? and so her apparently clear conscience about maybe eventually planning a tattoo (faith based or not) might be linked? (I'm not wanting to put words in you guys' mouths, mind.) Blessings.

Anyway I guess I'm more into Darby and Scofield. Darby's Synopsis and the Scofield Bible sell well. Blessings.

    Deadly Giant Hornets

Yes, you'd be surprised where they'll nest. Easy to see how the expression: 'stiring up a hornet's nest' came about. Blessings.

jasoncran: I suppose when you refer to futurists you're referring to what I called dispensationalists. Anyway, what you may be referring to would also be after the Rapture; after the church has gone. Blessings.

Is Being Against Tatoos the Law?

Deborah13: I suppose a broad comparison today to what seems to be referred to in Isaiah 44:5 is like getting a Christian fish sign <>< on a wrist, etc., as a witness. I'm not saying the passage should be taken as a command to go do it; but I'm just wondering if it's broadly comparable...

It's interesting that those who talk about wanting to impose the law on dispensationalists today are arguing similarly to those in the 17th century who tried to prohibit or jail preachers of the Gospel not authorised by the state in England. I do like Mathew Henry. Blessings.

Is Being Against Tatoos the Law?

Deborah13: How many preachers' wives get nice colored haircuts, and paint their nails and lips and insert studs into their ears? Answer: lots do. I would maybe see a bit of ink as well as being broadly in the same category. Blessings.

CI gives kind of the bare bones, succinctly, to a wide audience. He kind of followed some of Darby's definitions. I don't know if they ever met, mind.

In Florida, too, eh? Maybe when the Everglades get steamy and stagnant, they become the breeding ground for all sorts of insects. I'd like to visit the Everglades, mind. And Key West. Blessings.

Were some of the Scofield notes abridged? I wonder which edition has 'the real McCoy'... I must confess to liking C I Scofield. And J N Darby. As gr8grace suggests, they are strong in the dispensational distinctions.

Sorry to hear about this. I don't know much about the Agent Orange, actually.

I guess guns cease to be relevant when crazies cease to exist... Blessings.

Training is training, and those members of the public who feel good about criticizing gun training would also be the first to criticize if the authorities were slow to confront a violent fanatic who was putting them in danger. Blessings.

Yes, some very interesting thoughts about art, expression and emotion. There must be relevant comparisons between different forms of art; and I wondered if you as someone who has grown up into a hard rock inclined woman would see both music and fine art as realms of similar expression. Blessings.

This is not a critical question, but are you also with the NRA? Blessings.

Is Being Against Tatoos the Law?

Yes there is; in a discussion people talk around a subject, without directly saying to the individual, You should get a tattoo. It's an individual thing; widely acknowledged as such. What I'm seeing is on the one hand people claiming I'm saying, Get a tattoo! when I'm not. But at the same time...

Is Being Against Tatoos the Law?

Hi Lewis W. You're right to identify where Leviticus 19 refers both to not cutting the corners of beards as well. (Do preachers shave? if they condemn tattoos, but shave, it's hard to see their exegesis, I guess.) I'm not saying get a tattoo, or get a faith based tattoo, either. But if for...

Is Being Against Tatoos the Law?

We really do have exegetical issues, Jethro. First of all one has to identify the pagan necromancy and cutting for the dead of Lev. 19 as directly the same as the practice of tattooing today in all cases. Then one would presumably have to assume that the New Testament also prohibits tattoos...

Is Being Against Tatoos the Law?

Hi Deborah13: I see you added a phrase after I replied to the earlier part of your post! :) You got plenty of work there as a prayer warrior, right? Yes, the larger tattoos especially are expensive, though a small one wouldn't be. (I'm not suggesting Lexy get a small one either; though you...
