Yes, I'm sure it is good. With me though I completed the discipleship international (aka equip to serve) program memorizing all those verses in NIV84. With all that memory under my belt I would like to be able to continue to use the same version.
I had that same problem a while back after I upgraded. I did manage to find the solution but now I can't remember what it was. Let me think... hmmm... can't quite remember what I did, but i'm sure I found the solution somewhere online. I think it had to do with running a command of some sort...
I use NKJV as well (hardcopy). Actually, I can't get that on MySword either though. Perhaps there is a roundabout way but not via the standard setup. But, I can get the UKJV (updated kjv).

You could try the NKJV (New King James) - more modern english. I use that one but do also use the NIV. However, I try to use the NIV (1984) as the newest one is a little too politically correct for me with all the inclusive language changes they have made.
