    Good Friday

Re: Good Friday (07) After further study, I am convinced as well that Thursday is the day that Jesus was crucified and laid in the tomb. I have never had anyone taunt me about that. Most people I know say it is Friday, because that is what they have been taught. Many don't even give any...

    Good Friday

Re: Good Friday (07) I am really confused now. You used 20+ pages of Bible references and Jewish history and law to prove a Thursday crucifixion an burial, and then tell me that it was on Friday: I just want to know the truth. Was it Thursday or Friday?

    Good Friday

Re: Good Friday (07) Maybe I am missing something here, but is not the objective of this whole study to show that Jesus was crucified on Thursday (Friday being the high day, and Saturday being the regular sabbath) in order to get 3 days and 3 nights in the tomb??

    Good Friday

Re: Good Friday (07) Let me rephrase my question: Where is the proof that the 14th of Nisan (in the year Jesus was crucified) was on Friday?

    Good Friday

Re: Good Friday (07) I have read, and reread this, and still can't figure out exactly what day of the week was the "high day". In the notes in my Bible (NKJV) for Mark 14: 1-2, it says that the Passover was celebrated on the 14th day of Nisan, and the F.U.B. followed on the 15th through the...

    Good Friday

If Jesus rode in on Saturday (a Sabbath), then would not the Jews be working on a Sabbath by cutting and placing palm branches (Matt. 21:8) in the path of Jesus riding the donkey? Would not the Jews be at home or at the temple?

    Good Friday

So you are saying that Jesus was in fact crucified and buried on Thursday because he rode into Jerusalem on Sunday (what we call Palm Sunday)? And that He could not have been crucified and buried on Wednesday because He would have had to ride in on Saturday (a Sabbath)?

    Good Friday

How does the Day of Preparation (when the Passover lambs were selected) and the 4 days of observation of the lambs (in the home) fit the time line for a Thursday burial? Do we know that Jesus rode the donkey (triumphal entry) into Jerusalem on Preparation Day? If so, then he came as the...

A New Exposition of Philippians 2

Well, there's the problem right there!

    Good Friday

Could it be that there has been no response because it is the truth? I don't see much here to debate or discuss about, as it all seems to be truthful. I am very thankful for this thread, as I have learned a lot.

A New Exposition of Philippians 2

Maybe you are not aware that the word "catholic" means universal. Many people think that the word only refers to the "Roman Catholic Church", when it does not. I am "catholic" in the fact that I am part of Christ's "universal" church. However, I am NOT Roman Catholic". In fact, I despise that...

A New Exposition of Philippians 2

Many would have the same question. The fact is, stuff like this (A New Exposition of Philippians 2) is just "skubalon". That is why I posted:

The Number Seven by Ivan Panin

The heptadic structures and ELS's that have been found in the Greek texts and the Hebrew Scriptures in no way introduce "new" theology as you say. They do not take away or add any new theology. They have been discovered to show us beyond any shadow of doubt that every word in the original...

The Number Seven by Ivan Panin

There are some translations that do not have the last few (12 I think) verses of Mark, because they are not contained in the Greek texts that the translators used (Westcott & Hort). Even though Ivan Panin used the W&H texts for his study, he found that these last verses in Mark do in fact...

The Number Seven by Ivan Panin

How is it that we went from numeric patterns in the ORIGINAL Greek and Hebrew texts, to numerology in a specific TRANSLATION of those Greek and Hebrew texts? Ivan Panin and others did NOT use a translation in their research, but rather the Greek and Hebrew texts.

    Hug A Cop!

Mike , Alabaster and others: Although I don't disagree with you, we all need to see another perspective, in that the "authorities" (Mike, I will add the President, and every other representative to your list) we have here in the U. S., are our SERVANTS (not the other way around). They have...

The Number Seven by Ivan Panin

You left out a very important part of my post in your quote above. Below is how it was written: Don't misunderstand me, I believe the KJV (and the NKJV) to be the SAFEST English translation to use for studying. That is only MY opinion based on MY study.

The Number Seven by Ivan Panin

I don't believe that the Apocryphal books are inspired either, but some people that I love that are Roman Catholic, feel otherwise. I think that proof of there being NO ELS's or heptadic structures in those books would go a long way to prove that they are not inspired. However, not knowing...

The Number Seven by Ivan Panin

I first heard about heptadic structures and ELS (equidistant letter sequences) from Chuck Missler of Koinonia House, and I was fascinated with the concept. The question I would have is, is there any heptadic structures or ELS's in the Apocryphal books, or only in the Hebrew Scriptures and New...
