When the time comes to dispose of the season's Ginger Bread Houses the standard 1 1/2 mortar placed inside will do the trick. The blast radius is about 30 feet , and best effect are realized after dark.
This is not an indoor activity.

You never saw a pair of happier little girls grinning evilly as they ran about searching for bit of marshmallow and Necco to stomp with both feet.

:lol Our poor gingerbread houses...

They would start off so nice and beautiful...by the time Christmas rolled around they looked like a ghetto in a 3rd world country...all their little candies and marshmallows and mints would be nibbled off. One would think we had a host of mice in the house...but nope.

By this time, all that would remain is some caved in walls of stale gingerbread.

I always just threw them away....controlled demolition sounds much more fun. You may have given me a hint for a new family tradition. Generally we can let off fireworks on New Year's Eve, no fire danger because of the snow. Blowing up the sad remains of the gingerbread houses would start the new year off quite nicely.
