..... including this one awhile back. I just used Linux to go on and I had this place to virtually myself for awhile. :biglol

I don't know what it takes. I can't understand how people would put up with this much pain, but then again, this is a Christian site, so I guess pain, trials and tribulations come with being a Christian. I guess I'm not a good Christian along with others that use Linux, Macs, Androids and similar instead. And in doing so, I missed my Microsoft trial. :lol

Discontinue using them? Maybe. Nothing is safe anymore.

Even the food in your stomach get compromised by the hundreds of worms and organisms that dwell in us.:sad:sad

That's the thing, Classik. You don't know which ones they are, and some get hacked. Avast has a site rating, as does Semantec and McAfee online scanning for a web site. But that's a lot of trouble.

And I can do without the characters calling me an "idiot" for "clicking on every little thing" because they are wrong, plain and simple.

Here's some examples in my Microsoft days how I got a virus (and I suspect many other people do, too):

1) Displaying (not opening) an email using preview pane. I learned my lesson after that.
2) Clicking on a picture that Google found for me coming from a legit sounding web URL (I can understand a problem if we clicked on a sleazy sounding name that gives them away)
3) Simply holding the cursor over (not clicking) on a URL link with a known virus on their site.
4) Misspelling or mistyping a URL --- these virus writers prey on that. For example, Goggle.com instead of Google.com

So, what was my transgressions? Mistakes (e.g. #4) maybe, but not reckless behavior. Let's see if anyone else here from a die-hard Microsofter likes being called an "idiot" for merely using the OS (sorry, maybe the computer should just be used for a paperweight instead then that would be safe)

But the moral of this thread is this.... Not to bash Microsoft again as people well know I did that Ad nauseam. The point is to understand what is really going on behind the scenes. The infected web sites are just using these same deliberate contrived weaknesses in the OS that the authorities use to monitor everyone. I've been buddies with Vic for a long time here, and I know he does not like conspiracy theories, but I think this is more than a theory that several of my threads pointed out that one does not have to be nuts to believe. Maybe we should not be sheeple and not let this happen to us. The article makes it sound like they are concerned your computer is getting viruses. Trust me, they care not about your computer. There's other nefarious things going on.

Thanks for these points. They are great indeed. I must confess I have been fooled, too. :bigfrown

(I can't even connnect my cell phone to my computer. I think you know what am avoiding? I've been so terrified to do that.)

And what makes us think that even a new computer of whatever product does not contain a particular virus? :sad

I use Trend on my phone. I just checked the antivirus and was shocked that it has captured over 50 different malicious files. I'm sure there are about a million other ones Trend can't handle.

If these people with big head should leave the Microman alone, I think, we will have less problems.

Did I say '50'? Cruel underestimation. I checked again, there are over 500 of them
