1 John 2:1-6

Christ Our Advocate
2 My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. 2 He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world. 3 And by this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commandments. 4 Whoever says “I know him†but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him, 5 but whoever keeps his word, in him truly the love of God is perfected. By this we may know that we are in him: 6 whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked.

these are my thoughts please share yours
1 He calls them children which shows he lead them to the Lord also shows he is writing to younger or new believers. As believers we should stay away from sin and try not to sin but when we fall into sin the Father will forgive us because of our belief in Jesus and our sins will be covered under the blood however, we are to avoid sin to strenghen our relationship with Christ.
2 Jesus death on the cross became the answer for sin. All sin can be forgiven by accepting Him as Lord. The only sin that can not be forgiven is dieing without accepting Him as Savior.
3 As believer we are set apart to follow His commands out opf our love for Him not out of fear as in false religions. If we are not set apart we should look closer at our relationship with Jesus.
4 If we have no desire to keep God's commands we are not His.
5 We can know believers from the way they not only follow the commands but they way they show love.
6 We are to walk the walk Jesus set forth. We will fall but we will get back up and look to Him for help and live in His word.
