God Is Love

7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. 8 The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love. 9 By this the love of God was manifested in us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world so that we might live through Him. 10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12 No one has seen God at any time; if we love one another, God abides in us, and His love is perfected in us. 13 By this we know that we abide in Him and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit. 14 We have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son to be the Savior of the world.

These are my thoughts please share yours.

7 Love is something believers gain along with the Holy Spirit. We are not only to love one another but all as Christ does. The that we show is not ours but the Lord's love coming out in us thru the Spirit inside us. To love is to be like the Lord.

8 god is love so those who have God love. Now this does not say all will go to glory because God loves them. Yes god is love but, God is also just.

9 God paved a way for all to go to glory if they choose His Way. Jesus is the way. The Lord's love was shown from the cross.

10 We are forgiven because of His love we just got to accept His pardon for our sins, Jesus.

11 . Now getting angry does not mean we don't have the Lord but it does mean we need the Lord. Our sins makes us need the Lord but because we have the Lord does not mean we are perfect. Love was first shown from God.

12 Loving one another is the first way for the gospel to be spread. All we do as believers out of love.

13 If we can not love it is a sign we do not have the Holy Spirit living in us. Now we may not always show love to everyone everythime because we are in the flesh but, we should love everyone everytime. Love is shown not by getting not ever getting upset but by being willing to forgive.

14 Christ showed His love by forgiving us even though He hated our sins. With love we can carry the gospel to others. To many people try to share the gospel without showing love, this does not work very effectively.

I also believe that loving one another comes from the Holy Spirit. If we look at the world of business - those that do not know Christ nor have the Holy Spirit are usually out there trying to step on the smaller person so they themselves can get a head. I don't know about you, but I have seen some pretty shady deals go down between businesses - my ex-fiancee worked at a used car dealership as their accountant. She told me horror stories how they ripped off customers. Kinda reminds me of that Christian movie Fly Wheel, have you seen it? If not I recommend that you buy or rent it.

The very best outward expression that we Christian have that others see is our love - especially true for the lost. However, it's unfortunate that not everyone loves like they ought, and even though they are Christians because they have put their trust and faith in Christ but because of family issues, relationship issue etc. So people find it hard to trust and love others because they have been knocked down or hurt by many others. I think God knows our hearts and sees our intentions though.

I think the ultimate love of our Lord was shown on the Cross - but throughout all the ministry of Jesus He showed love - again especially to those that were lost.

And it is so unfortunate that so many people will choose the broad way that leads to destruction rather then taking the narrow path that leads to life. If more people would just open their hearts and give God a chance, God would move in the lives of so many people.

It is a hard thing to do - be angry and sin not. However, this is the example that we are shown through Christ. For the most part when we are angry, we can not tame our tongues which causes us to sin. If we could learn how to maintain and control our tongues we would set a better example in this difficult task.

12 Loving one another is the first way for the gospel to be spread. All we do as believers out of love.

This is true, if we come at someone with a hard heart or in a negative way they will refuse our position and the greater damage is, they may never accept the forgiveness shown on the Cross. If we love the lost and come at them from that angle there would be greater success in our fellowship - The Westboro Baptist Church needs to learn a thing or two about their approach and angle of the lost.

13 If we can not love it is a sign we do not have the Holy Spirit living in us. Now we may not always show love to everyone everythime because we are in the flesh but, we should love everyone everytime. Love is shown not by getting not ever getting upset but by being willing to forgive.

I agree, we should strive to love at all times but it can be difficult at times - example, a boss promised us a promotion at the end of the month and that promised promotion was given to someone else that was just hired etc. But when we are not showing that person love at that moment or any moment, we need to respect others and their opinions this I believe will offset any anger or resentment.
