2 John 1:12-13
King James Version (KJV)
12 Having many things to write unto you, I would not write with paper and ink: but I trust to come unto you, and speak face to face, that our joy may be full.
13 The children of thy elect sister greet thee. Amen.
2 John 1:12-13
New American Standard Bible (NASB)
12 Though I have many things to write to you, I do not want to do so with paper and ink; but I hope to come to you and speak face to face, so that your joy may be made full.
13 The children of your chosen sister greet you.

12 There are many things a believer can say about following Jesus the bible and salvation and faith. While I do not spend much time myself talking about other things, I can talk about the bible for long time frames. John would have been the same way if not more since he actually saw Jesus face to face. John decided to go tell face to face because of this it is not scripture and we do not know what he said. We often need to talk face to face to someone to see their reaction to our words. John knew when told them more they would be filled with joy, this comes from living the word you hear. Not living the words brings conviction, if you have the Spirit. This people wanted to see John, someone who was a close friend to Jesus. John I am sure had stories he could share. In his gospel he said that not all the books in the world could contain all the Jesus did but, I am share John may have shared them before he finally wrote the gospel.
13 We do not know who this sister is because John never says. This group knows who the sister is. It has been said that the sister is symbolic for another church and the children were the members of the church. With that in mind at this time the church was not divided they were greeting and praying for other churches, today there is much division. Today churches may greet and pray for other church but it is usually those that are of their same group but, should we not pray for anyone in need, no matter if they go to a church we do not or even if they do not go to church. I personally try not to let church divisions divide me against church members.
