2012 movie observations

I wanted to just add this note: I always had trouble visualizing things in the Bible like "all the mountains/ islands shall be moved out of their places". But then I watched the movie 2012. I'm not saying this is a christian-focused movie or anything but wow those special effects helped me to visualize.

There is one scene right after the first volcano goes up in Yellowstone in which these skyscraper-sized pieces of earth and lava rain down from the sky with ear shattering ka-booms. Fire and brimstone indeed.

Oh - this is another freaky line from the movie: "It will start in Hollywood". Dude, what? That is one of the scariest lines in a movie by far.

Anyway, I don't know what that adds to the conversation. We now return you to your regularly scheduled forum conversation.

When God's consuming fire destruction of man's works off this earth does come, anything we've seen in nature thus far won't compare to it. Not only in the completeness of its destruction, but also in its quickness, at an instant even.

Heb 12:25-29
25 See that ye refuse not Him That speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused Him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from Him That speaketh from heaven:
26 Whose voice then shook the earth: but now He hath promised, saying, "Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven."
27 And this word, "Yet once more", signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.
28 Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:
29 For our God is a consuming fire.

Don't lean to understanding from movies, afterall, their first purpose was for entertainment. Its use for propaganda came later. Stay in God's Word and pray.

Pay attention to the events our Lord gave in His Word for the last days, and compare those signs with what's happenning in the world. God gave us the events to be watching leading up to His Son's return, and the coming destruction upon this earth by God's consuming fire. If you can recognize the events, then year dating doesn't mean much, for as written no man knows the day or hour of His coming. But we can know the times and the seasons of Christ's coming.
