3 John 1:11-12

11 Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God.
12 Demetrius hath good report of all men, and of the truth itself: yea, and we also bear record; and ye know that our record is true.

These are my thoughts, please share yours.
11 We should live in a way Christ would because He was perfect and therefore the best example. We will not live perfectly because we are faulted but should do what we can by Him. We do because we are of God. Those who are not of God may only imitate what is good but are truly evil. We are to live good to show the world we are His and live by His standards, not what is said that is good by the world but what the word says is good.
12 Demetrius was heard by Paul. If we do what God calls us to do people may talk good about us and we may grow to popularity and this gives an opportunity to serve the Lord before more people. We should share our testimony but importantly live one worth sharing as we grow and continue to develop in Him.

What you say is the Truth, very well put my friend, That old Demetrius had problems with other men that might have more authority than he. To go along with what you said, I really like John 15 the Vine and branches. That teaches me sooooo much about what my life should be.
