We need to be asking these questions with every decision we make as in all things we need to be pleasing to the Lord. This also made me think of this verse in Galatians as when we allow the flesh to take over that of the Spirit then we are no longer pleasing to the Lord.

Gal 3:3 Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?
 
I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
