What is a better resurrection ?

The better resurrection is the resurrection of the righteous dead that occurs at Christ's second coming spoken of in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-16 and 1 Corinthians 15.

Martyrs knew that a better day was coming for them and laid down their lives in the 'hope' of eternal life realized at the resurrection.

Paul says, "I would not have you to be ignorant concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not as those who have no hope" for without the resurrection, "those who are asleep in Christ have perished"

It was this resurrection to life that the saints looked forward to.
