This is a massage from Dr. Charles Stanley- through In-Touch Ministries- In reference to what happened yesterday at Virginia Tech. My thoughts & prayers are with the Families & their loved ones through this terrible ordeal. May they all find comfort in Gods' Love through Jesus Christ.
"Dear Friends,
The events we heard about & saw on television Monday from Virginia Tech University in Blacksburg, Virginia were extremely disturbing & horrifying.
Our Thoughts & Prayers are going out to the families of those who lost loved ones in this senseless act of violence.
At In touch Ministries, we will continue to pray for the Lord to comfort & heal everyone affected by this terrible act. It's difficult to understand how & why something like this could happen.
Often times, in the face of overwhelming tradgedy, we wonder why & how a loving God would allow so much injury & loss of life.
We ask "Why didn't He prevent it?' Why didn't He do something"
My friends, No one knows the answer to that question. But what we do know is that God is still in control.
The most powerful thing we can do at this time is to cry out to the Lord for the grieving families of those precious students, the faculty & the entire student body. The days, weeks & months ahead will be a long & difficult healing process.
The apostle Paul in 2Corinthians 1:3-5 is most envcouraging when he says " Blessed be the God & Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies & God of all comfort, who comforts us in all of our affliction so that we will be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort, with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For Just as the suffering of Christ are ours in abundance, so also our comfort in abundanct through Christ.
Prayerfully,
Charles Stanely
