A rescuing prophecy

7

7angel

Guest
Peter says to Jesus; Sir, I will give my life for you, but, this prophecy was not fulfilled.

Soon, Jesus says to Peter, you will give your life for my? - no, you will deny three times to me and soon the rooster will sing, this prophecy was fulfilled

The question is, if Jesus had not prophesied the negation of Peter,
would have recovered its FAITH?

MATTHEW 26

73 39 A little later the bystanders came over and said to Peter, "Surely you too are one of them; even your speech gives you away." 74 At that he began to curse and to swear, "I do not know the man." And immediately a cock crowed. 75 Then Peter remembered the word that Jesus had spoken: "Before the cock crows you will deny me three times." He went out and began to weep bitterly.

If Jesus had not prophesied it, the song of the rooster would not have sense, and Peter would lose its FAITH

Hi and welcome to the forum,

I have not thought that Peter's response was a prophesy - but if we consider it as such to the best of our knowledge Peter did give his life for the Lord. He was crucified upside down, apparently.

Hi Stranger and thank you

All purposes also a promise or an oath, are prophecies, everything that anticipates the future.

Peter crucified upside down, it is an absurd myth.

But the point is the value of the prophecies.
The bible is a prophetic book
It is prophesied or advance what will happen
But we do not know when and how, we must be prepared so as not to fall prey to a tsunami or a katrina, and also to rejoice, because the final will be glorious

The reason why Jesus created that situation in the life of Peter was to reveal Himself as Saviour. Peter followed Christ because the Father revealed to him that he was in front of the Son of God. Then he started calling Jesus "Lord"... but he did not called Him "Saviour" yet.

After that situation, Peter was completely broken, and knew that he could not die for Jesus, but Jesus was here to die for us. We needed to be loved first. Thus he was converted to Jesus Christ, our Saviour.

Jesus told the disciples to deny themselves, but that did not mean that they were capable of it. Sin makes us slaves of ourselves.

"But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen." 2 Peter 3:18
