A Run on Gas

60 cents for a gallon of ethyl , that would be nice and cheap ! :)🏎️⛽
Hi hawkman

Yes, 60¢ for a gallon of gas would be nice for the consumer, but that price can't sustain the crew out there in the oil field bringing it out of the ground or the refineries processing the crude into refined fuels. So, the problem for the consumer with 60¢ gas is that it wouldn't be around long and then there'd be no gas at all. Because at that price point, the entire infrastructure that provides that there is gas at the pump would throw down their tools and just go home.

God bless,
Ted

miamited did you ever buy any Ethyl gas ? If so, what kind of vehicle did you put it in ? The good old days .

I am reminded of a song .
"Are The Good Times Really Over"

I wish a buck was still silver
It was back when the country was strong
Back before Elvis
Before the Vietnam war came along

Before The Beatles and 'Yesterday'
When a man could still work, still would
The best of the free life behind us now
And are the good times really over for good?

You must have an antique to use ethyl gas.

I thought pure gas (pure oil) was an oddity to see in north Florida and Georgia
Ethyl gas is no more here in the USA . 100 octane and fortified with Tetraethyllead in other words leaded gas .
We can get pure gas without ethanol in Alabama , I use it in my lawnmowers . About $1 more a gallon though .

Once upon a time I had an auto that required ethyl gas 1970 Chevrolet Monte Carlo . 10.25 to 1 compression ratio . Ahh , the smell of ethyl gasoline :cool2 .

Remember gas pricing wars at the gas stations ? Maybe you have a photo that relates .

Im 49,I was born that year . Unleaded and full serve gas pumps lasted into the late 80s early to mid 90s(unleaded).the last full service station closed this year.i took a photo before its demolition

Built in the same year as the other ,modified in 1965.also had the colored bathroom .evidence of more then one gas island irc.

Also possibly an old amico gas station .near and just south lies and even older gas station that hearkens back to the grocery ,general store selling gas .built in 1921 ,that gal nearly predates the hwy I stood in the median of taking photos .

Fb isn't letting me pull photos . I need to upload the photos I have and I can use the time to upload the originals to Tumblr .

Look up desert inn, yeehaw junction.built In 1925 before the accident I have full photos . The read will give the story I try to tell in my photos

So what is everyone?. Are you a full tanker or drive on E for enough?

I never go full tank. I'm always low tank and just put small amounts in at a time. I don't know why. Maybe it makes me feel like I'm not spending much on gas when in reality Im not saving and I just need get gas more often so it's not really logical, but I still do it anyhow.

I am complete opposite. It's rare that I allow my tank to get below 1/2 full. One reason is to be sure I always have fuel, particularly when driving in winter, in case I get stuck and need to be able to run the engine for a source of heat. Another is so that I never feel pressured to find that next fuel station. Another reason is that gasoline in the tank also serves to cool the fuel pump that is in the tank and running too low can damage that pump.

Just be self sufficient and have your own power source and you can pump max aircon without interference. Who knows probably still get a penalty for it.

Hows that, power trippers telling people how hot or cold they are allowed to be and for there customers. Controlling peoples temperatures. Feeling hot and would like to cool down, feeling cold and would like to warm up, well too bad , they tell you how hot or cold you are allowed to be no less than 27 degrees.
