My wife was visiting her friend in east Dallas on July 12th 1999.About 7 pm in the evening they heard the door bell and opened it.There stood a young man about the age of 23.He introduced himself as a sales man from a local security company,which was the largest in Dallas.He gave his business card to the lady of the house and told them that seven home owners in their neighborhood signed up for security activation and asked if they would also be interested in doing so.She told him they had Jesus for their protection and did not want any extra security.The curious young man asked if Jesus was another security company. They replied she meant God's protection.He thought they were funny and said that he was an atheist and didn't believe in God or anything like that.The women started to explain to him that God is the creator of all things and He made the heavens and the earth and the sea and everything in them.He asked them where they got this information and they said,"from the Bible."One of them went inside the house and brought a Bible and started reading to him from the first chapter of the book of Genesis.After listening to that for some time he interrupted asking who wrote all that ?and they replied 'Moses' He said Moses could have been another man just like him and could have made it all up.They told him that Moses wrote it by the inspiration of God and he remarked,'you people are funny'.As the conversation went on the salesman got nervous and at one point he raised his voice and and said,"If there is a God let him give me a sign right now."Both women zealous for God looked at each other not knowing what to say.My wife then told him that he would be tempting God by asking for a sign.As soon as she spoke this his phone beeped.He took the phone in his hand and listened for a message but there was none.Then he looked at the screen of the phone and stepped back staring at it as if seeing something strange.Then it seemed like whatever was on the screen was gone. After few seconds he looked back on the phone and said in a startled voice."look"Both women looked and saw it written in capital letters-' JESUS IS LORD' One of the ladies took the phone from him with the writing still on the screen and then it slowly disappeard in her hand.As all of them stood stunned and watched breathless the writing came back for the third time in her hand and then it vanished.Apparently shaken the young sales man in a frightened voice said,"You people are doing something weird." Then he took the phone from her hand and walked few steps backward,still staring at the phone. I seriously doubt this story. For one, what person has not heard of Jesus in Dallas? That would be like someone groing up in the Middle East and not knowing Mohammad.

Even if it had happened, it could be a text messaging joke. It seems a much simplier explanation than God playing around with some guy.

However, even if this were true, then God has set a presedent that He will reveal Himself to prove He exists. Yet, He will not do that where many people will see. He could send down angels or have Jesus do a talk show circuit or spell His name in the Stars to show He is real. Instead He is reduced to minor small miracles that result in cheese sandwiches selling for a high amount on Ebay.

These stories are obviously lies, because they don't use real people's names or biographical info. The message of the story might be a good one, but it is just as sinful to lie for a good cause and spread stuff like this under the guise of a true story as it is to lie for any other reason.

Bhakthi, just because somebody says something is true doesn't mean that it is. Usually when somebody hasn't actually witnessed something there has to be some more credible and believable sources to make confirmation of the claim other than posting "true story".

It disturbs me when people project Christ in such a manner that makes Him look like a fool in front of others. This stuff is so obviously fake that people just laugh and that drags the Name of Jesus through the mire. Christ is not a hat trick Who sends text messages and finds people parking spots at the mall. He is the Lord and Creator of the universe and should be seen with that amount of respect and not placed in positions to be ridiculed.

It may be an "embarrassment" to those who "believe" in Jesus, but it's not for the so-called "believers" to sit and confess testimony against this same Jesus, who died so that ALL may come to salvation.
