What I wish to put forward in this thread will be a bold and hopefully ongoing study of the scriptures in hopes of us all gaining a better understanding of the plan of God as laid out in scripture. I ask that we all, (ESPECIALLY MYSELF) try to do this with an open mind and not insert our preconceptions into this study, but instead let the inspired words of scripture mold our thinking and understand to fit its message.

We know that there are 66 canonal books in the Bible but in the interest of time as well as our ability to really do a deep dive into this, I ask that we focus specifically on the following books first and use the others as a reference point to help clear up any confusion that will likely arise.

These are the books I suggest and this order:

1. Genesis (lays the foundation for everything else in scripture)
2. Exodus (God begins unfolding His promises to His covenant people)
3. 1st, 2nd Samuel (More Promises fulfilled and Israel is developed as a kingdom)
5. Isaiah (prophesy)
6. Ezekiel (prophesy)
7. Daniel (prophesy)
8. Luke (SOME fulfillments of prophesy explained, and more prophesy)
9. Acts (The beginning and groundwork of the christian congregation)
10. Revelation (the capper!!!)

In Genesis, what first catches my attention is that someone(s) besides The GOD was living prior to the creation and completion of our universe. I hate to assume, but in this case I am convinced that the beings that existed with the GOd at this time were what we may call spirit beings and messengers (angels) perhaps. If that is indeed the case, then that begs this line of questioning.

A. When did God create these beings?
B. Is our existence in any way related to them?
C. Why aren't all of them, (the satan for example) not fans of mankind?

Secondly, the early chapters are amazing in that we can see that there were unbelievable lines of communication available to man at that time. Man walked with God, (really walked and talked with God!), conversed with animals, and had seemingly frequent dealings with the spirit beings God created as well.

Lastly (for now), God surely knows the end from the beginning, therefore He had to know that by the time of chapter 6 that man's thoughts would be all directed towards evil and that would make Him sorrowful that He had made man, yet He made us anyway. Why? Is there a greater (spiritual if you will) purpose for our existence that affects the other created beings of God that necessitated our creation?

Dear friend, The real dilemma is actually finding time or making time to read THE WHOLE BIBLE. IT IS ALL GOD'S WORD, not just the 10 points you made. But my knowledge of Esther, Ezra, Nehemiah, and 1 and 2 Samuel, 1 and 2 Kings, 1 and 2 Chronicles, is very poor. There are some parts of the Bible like these books and Numbers that I seldom read. I read more from the whole NT than the OT. But I read Psalms and Proverbs and the 4 major prophets and the PENTATEUCH, or perhaps the HEXATEUCH including Joshua. In Erie Scott

You are totally right Scott, we need to make the time to read the entirety of scripture. The 10 books I choose was simply for getting a firm foundation established in the Word which will allow for perhaps a better understanding of the other 56 books as well once one reads them.
