Abraham

Why Abraham is common among Jews, Muslims & Christians?
I would offer . Abraham meaning the father of all the nations of the world a word designed to represent our Holy Father as the father of many nations giving meaning to the word Abraham

God had chosen Abram meaning the father of one nation whose father was a Amorite and mother a Hittite (enemies of God ) to represent all born again by the Spirit of Christ. In reference to the gospel seed (Christ) one and not many seeds after the flesh of Abraham .

He set aside the Jew to represent all the nations of the world teaching us God is no respecter of the dying flesh of mankind .He is not served by human hands in any way shape or form.

Greetings My Dreams,
Why Abraham is common among Jews, Muslims & Christians?
The Jews trace their religion and ancestry from Abraham through Isaac. The Muslims trace their ancestry as mainly Arabs from Abraham through Ishmael, and true Christians trace their faith from Abraham through Jesus:
Galatians 3:5–8 (KJV): 5 He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? 6 Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness. 7 Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham. 8 And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.

Galatians 3:16 (KJV): 16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.

Galatians 3:26–29 (KJV): 26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. 27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Kind regards

Hi My Dreams

I believe that TrevorL gave the right answer. Yes, Abraham is a part of the building of all three religious faiths. As he explained, the people that comprise the muslim/arabic line of nations came from the son of the house maid that Sarah encouraged Abraham to bed with to fulfill the promise that God had made to them. God even promised Abraham that He would bless Ishmael with pretty much the same promise of great populations of people to come from him, as He had done for Isaac. However, God also prophesied of Ishmael this: "He will be a wild donkey of a man, whose hand will be against everyone and everyone’s hand against him. He will live in hostility toward all his brothers." That has proven true over the many, many centuries since.

God bless,
Ted
