How an Incredible Dog Changes the Life of a Woman (Video)
http://www.whitewolfpack.com/2012/10/how-incredible-dog-changes-life-of.html

Talented dog makes the bed, fetches the milk and even gets money out of cash machine for disabled owner

Owner hadn't been outside on her own for 18 months before she got Byron

Seven-year-old dog fetches everything from milk in the fridge to hot water bottle and knows more than 100 commands

As dog owners know, you are lucky if your pooch can be persuaded to collect your slippers without chewing them to pieces.

But golden labrador Byron performs dozens of such tasks faultlessly for his owner every day.

He helps 'best friend' Kate Cross peg out her washing, make her bed, go shopping and even take money out of the cash machine.

The trained hound is a life-line for Kate, who suffers from Ehlers Danlos syndrome. The rare condition means the retired teacher's joints are so weak that she can dislocate her shoulder from just opening a door.

But Byron is never far from her side - and has learned to do all the things Kate struggles to. The 49-year-old from Hinckley, Leicestershire, who received the star pet in 2007, said: 'I can’t imagine my life without Byron - he really is my best friend.

'He’s given me my life back - I can live independently and not have to rely on my husband or other people doing everything for me because Byron is always there.

'He never gets fed up with helping me - it’s all a big game to him, but I’d be lost without him.'

Byron was trained by Sussex-based charity Canine Partners - who have matched hundreds of assistance dogs to people who really need their help.

After months of intensive training with the charity’s volunteer Puppy Parents, the young dogs are carefully matched with new companions, before training continues in their new homes.

Byron helps Kate from the moment she gets up in the morning - with no task too big or small for the seven-year-old.

The faithful hound helps Kate into her wheelchair every morning, acting as a support for her as she steps out of bed into the chair.

As she makes a morning coffee, Byron will open the fridge door himself, before fetching Kate a carton of milk.

And the clever canine even retrieves his own breakfast bowl from the cupboard - before jumping up and placing his empty bowl in the washing up bowl.

He accompanies Kate to the supermarket - reaching down to low shelves to pick up any item Kate has on her shopping list.

And to the envy of dog owners everywhere, Byron can even open the door to let himself out to the toilet.

Kate added: 'Byron knows more than 100 different commands, and can do just about anything I ask him too.

Absolutely amazing how God supplies all of our needs according to His riches in glory.

Philippians 4: 19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

That truly is a heart touching blessing!

Thanks TOB for sharing this with us!

what an awesome testimony how God meets our needs. Thank you for sharing this as it gives hope to others that may be going through similar things.

... ... ... like a vw needs a mechanic, people need people...... ... sigh... not profoundly, no,
...
... simply, yes....
...
years ago 'my' 'family' had many members, and we often met with one another, helped each other more times than I can recount, and it was all basically just because we were all 'FAMILY' ... aunts , uncles, cousins, brothers, (no sisters for me then) , grandparents, and even neighbors fairly often helped one another and enjoyed days/ times together at a BBQ or dinner or birthday party or other event..... (sadly not too many from Scripture, but I didn't know about that then like I have learned since then (by sheer grace) ) ....

contrary-wise, now they make a little button like thing that hangs around a persons neck to give them a needed sense of 'security' ---- you're not alone if you have "button-push" capability to call emergency service.

this direction of society is not good. it never was good. it is not good today.

oh, sometimes what is 'provided' via some aspect of the neighborhood/government may be used to provide a need when God sees fit to do so. but it is sad that so much impersonal sort of way is done, and 'for profit' by an agency or corporation or some-such, instead of BY FAMILY. .. .. ... s .... i ..... g ..... h ..... , and again, sigh... .... such a loss for many of us.

oh, the world might actually think it's great , and way way too many churches too.

but let us consider what we may do now, today, to get back to God's Way, His Better Way, in fellowship with one another in Christ Jesus looking to live according to His directions in Scripture.

:wave2Welcome to CF and God bless you as you spend time in here. I miss my VW I use to have many years ago.

People are not always available 24/7 when you need them and I would think this dog is a God send to this lady when there is no one available at the time of her needing help.

i used to have many vws years ago ( i think i had 4 or 5 at one time, though only one or two was running, and one van at another time and a few other of the old (60's?) bugs - great cars!)
yes,
i know people are not around not only 24/7, but even for weeks at a time - my brother manages apartments downtown and in the last month 2 unrelated residents were found dead in their apartment many days after passing. one was already in rigor having been dead over 4 weeks in their own bathtub.
point being, in the world this is 'normal' for people to be so totally alone.
in God's family, this is past being shameful and is a gross departure from His Way of Life for His people.

like you said though, also, i agree the dog is a God-send. like Esther in Ruth, if Esther had not done as she was told, God would have provided another person or way to deliver His people. so too today, God has provided in a very wide variety of ways for the needs of those who call on Him, or even for people who are not His (as God sends the rain and the sunshine on the just and the unjust alike - no one can say God discriminated against them).

we as God's people, whoever calls on His Name, should be learning what God says, how God says to live, and DOING what He says, as it is written. (always , always, in line with His Word).

the poor will still always be around. the lonely will still always be around. but as for me and my house, may we always serve God completely, in truth and with all that He has given us. Amen.

Shalom to all who love God and seek Him and love the truth to do it by grace in Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior.
